Keto, Fasting, and Survivor

(eat more) #1

i’ve been thinking about this for a while…
a ketoer would do really well physically on the show Survivor…

i mean the contestants are basically reducing carbs, fasting, feast/fasting, and fasted training.

who’s going to audition so i can say: i “know” him/her! :joy:

p.s. when you win i think it would be reasonable to pay me a finder’s fee

I’d do it.

funny…you were the first person i thought of :joy: :joy: :joy:

about that finder’s fee…

you could have an international tv audience to share the keto love and imagine a Survivor winner ketofest!

do it! do it! do it!

I’d be down! I thinks it would be a ton of fun to do a survival show! I just need a dog sitter and a job that would give me the time off :joy:

(Jo Lo) #8

Wait, how many carbs do you get from eating bugs and worms?

(eat more) #9

i’d be more worried about the bags of rice and pizza parties lol

The problem is they do provide food to them and it is all carb-heavy. So, short of catching your own food, it will be hard to hold out for 39 days. You’d be turned back to a sugar burner with a low metabolism by the end.

Naked and Afraid is only 21 days, and I’ve seen some episodes where they don’t eat much of anything for the full time.

not any different than surviving today’s society…pizza…eat the toppings. i’ve seen burgers, ribs, steaks, cheese plates…and the feasting/rice is so few and far between (if you believe what they air) i doubt a ketoer would revert to being a sugar-burner
also i think you are still allowed a “comfort item”…gallon of coconut oil
i totally think it’s doable…might be hard to get enough fat but also might not be…i’d for sure #feastmode on fat before going to the island

also @ron-coleman fasted for 46 so 39 would be easier for someone with a strong fasting muscle

i’ve also thought about the ppl that lose weight while there and the ppl that don’t…until keto it never occurred to me that the ppl who don’t could (and probably are) be IR

Heheh like how Chad on the Bachelorette last year brought tubs of protein powder in his luggage

oh man that guy was kookoochachoo kaaahrazy…and obviously never worked out his little chicken legs :barf:

i don’t even know how i got sucked into watching that madness!

I have this with my mirror after a shower everyday, that is why I started keto

I have that job and no dog. I’m set!

(I am a Dog (Dog's eat until they burst!)) #16

@Brenda I could see you doing quite a bit of hunting and doing feast/fast cycling on that show!

(8 year Ketogenic Veteran) #17

Yes. And I have no issue with eating bugs. Matter of fact, I do that now!

(Jennifer) #18

I would eat that. Is it more like almond flour or coconut?

(8 year Ketogenic Veteran) #19

Tastes very mild, subtle flavor, but does remind me of liver, if were it powdered. I use lots of extracts and spices when using it in keto candy bars. You cannot taste it.

That would be a fast track way to get your keto message out there @Brenda!! Go for it!!
