Sorry to hear that, glad your doing better. Yes we all react differently to supplements which was why I recommended monitoring your liver, but looks like your pancreas got there first!
Keto diet, benefits for aging
yes after 7 days of Niacin. I’m in trouble on my T2 so going to make a thread in that “board”, plus I’m sick with flu symptoms since I was released from hospital last Sat.
I think I saw those are included in my regular blood work which none were in the bad zone. Let me go look now.
Yes, the AST and ALT are in good zone, but I don’t see a GGT. I think someone told me here that the billirubin, and Albumin ones were also for liver. What does the GGT stand for? I’m in the US so it may be different in my bloodwork reports, thank you much for chiming in, I need all the help I can get denise oops, I found the ones I saved

Total Bilirubin is a liver monitor test as well.
GGT (gamma-glutamyl transferase) blood test is a blood test that measures the level of the enzyme GGT in your blood. It’s primarily used to help diagnose or rule out liver and bile duct problems, and can also be helpful in monitoring alcohol use.
Some liver tests can pinpoint a bile duct vs actual liver issue. AST and ALT can help monitor fatty liver disease via NASH (non alcoholic steatosis) or cirrhosis.
I a common liver test panel is called a Hepatic panel. It includes * Total protein:
Measures the overall protein levels in the blood, which can be affected by liver problems.
A protein produced by the liver, low levels can indicate liver damage.
A yellow pigment produced when red blood cells break down, high levels can cause jaundice.
An enzyme in the liver and bile ducts, elevated levels can suggest liver or bile duct problems.
Enzymes that can be released from damaged liver cells, elevated levels indicate liver damage.
GGT is not included in that order panel.
Thank you for all the info! I see I don’t have the one below, but I can ask if that can be added to my regular blood-work. I don’t think I have any liver issues, but it would be good to monitor. I’m 72 and drank a lot from age 21-30. Social drinking really never was a heavy drinker, never drank at home etc. I hated hang-overs so gave it up Thank God for that!
By process of elimination, with the liver enzyme results you have that ALL show values in the normal reference range, the possibility of an abnormal GGT is low, but yes you could ask for that test on a future blood draw.
