Keto College

Random thoughts.

One of the things doing keto for three years now has given me- is perspective.

Not an expert, I would never claim that. But perspective? Yes!
I want to warn you about doing your research. Keto as a lifestyle will require studying, and it’s more like getting a degree, not just taking one class. The ketogenic diet is not a temporary fix. The second you go back to a high carb diet you will regain any bodyfat lost and ill health you had. There is no way around it.
So. Read the books, watch the lectures, research food nutrition. LEARN about the ketogenic diet. Learn how ketosis works. While you’re learning, experiment on yourself. Test what works for your unique body.
The ketopians who do the work are the successful ones. The people who do not do any work? Fail. I’ve watched it time and time again. You’ll have to be passionate about keto to be keto for life. And hey, old timers like me love to help. We’ll point you in the right direction. :green_heart:

There are no shortcuts on keto.

I couldn’t agree more! I get frustrated with all the people in groups who just want to be told what to do. I don’t mind helping, I love helping, but you need to learn for yourself!

I went the first 9 or so months of my journey just doing low carb and going off what I’d done with protein power plan in the 90s. I didn’t realize keto was different. Until a friend mentioned macros and upping fat and I’m like what? Lol Then she mentioned 2 Keto Dudes and I was HOOKED. I binge listened and started reading and seriously couldn’t get enough. I only wish I’d learned it all sooner.

I love it! Not only is it true and instructive, but also it is forgiving.

Embrace your passion. Do not shy away from it. Yes, not everyone wants to hear about someone else’s workout on facebook or see meal photos; but, that does not mean that you need to be afraid to discuss nutrition with family and friends.

Too many persons get too excited about whatever diet or exercise regime is the current rage and try to foist it upon others. That makes most of us reluctant to share the word. Keto is different though. Talk about it. Share your passion!
