Keto Care package for a newbie

(Tara) #1

Hey friends,
I want to put together a care package/keto starter package for a special relative to help get started with keto. I will have to ship it to another state, so everything has to be shelf stable. It’s very rural area, the closest walmart is 100 miles away, and the local grocery store is very small with limited options.
-Lite Salt and Magnesium citrate for Ketoaide
-Almond flour
-Coconut flour
-Coconut oil
-Macadamia nuts
-Swerve
-86% Dark Chocolate
-Rao’s marinara sauce
-Walden Farms sugar free syrup
-Pork Rinds
Last but not least a print out of the Ketogenic diet in a nutshell, and various recipes like Carlshead pizza, Brenda’s pork rind pancakes.
Can you guys think of anything else?

Olives were essential for me when starting out. But probably accessible wherever one might be.

kippers and sardines.
unsweetened jello gelatin
maybe some chicken broth until they can make some.
snacks - pepperoni and jerky sticks

Any canned fish, salmon is my favorite and one of the best
Coca powder (I find this way more useful than bars)
pecans, almonds, walnuts
summer sausage
MIO
zevia
parchment paper
silicone ice cube molds.

Maybe some of the more unusual nut butters, like almond? Packets of seeds?

Maybe check out thrivemarket.com? There’s a lot of goodies on there and it’s free shipping over $49 and of you sign up to their site you get $20 off your first order. I’m finding all sorts of goodies on there I want!

Is your goal just to get them started and hope they’ll be able to find this stuff later or are you going to keep sending supplies or is this just kind of showing special keto food?

Magnesium citrate laxative liquid should be easy to find in any store that has a pharmacy aisle, even a smallish one. What’s not as easy to find is magnesium pills or powder that aren’t magnesium oxide so, might consider those. Maybe some Quest bars, liquid stevia, low carb jerky (like bacon jerky), a jar of better than bouillon base (lighter than a bunch of boxes of broth), pink salt.

Awesome! Thanks for the suggestions everyone!

Yes, just a starter. I think its overwhelming at first and hopefully this will help.

A care package! What a wonderful idea! Your relative has a great friend! Increases chances of success with that kind of support. Kudos to you!

I wish I was related to you when I was starting keto.

What a great (and kind) idea! Lilly’s chocolates, though they could probably get them on amazon.

(Ashley) #11

That’s how I feel Dave! It’s awesome!

(I want abs... olutely all the bacon) #12

Fantastic idea!
I would include coconut aminos or GF soy for making Egg Roll in a Bowl. I’d also include a homemade taco spice blend for taco bowls, to keep the sneaky carbs out of the diet.

This is an awesome idea! I would add sf flavored jello and sf pudding. Maybe add a Visa gift card she can use at her local place to get some HWC and cheeses. Just a thought.

Recipe for the taco seasoning?

Book on or about KETO

or make your own info gift , printed out KETO PDFs ( various resources ) and info
Recipes, beginners guide, what is KETO, KETO food Shopping lists etc

If not printing, email them the above file😄

Great idea OP!

These are all great ideas! Thanks everyone.

I actually make my own taco/chili seasoning as well. I will post my recipe later, in the recipes area.

Shelf stable milk alternatives you know are good would be nice too most people have no experience with that kind of stuff. Good liquid sucralose or stevia, making sure they know it may or may not work for them.
