This BBC coverage of Kellogg’s defeat in court cracks me up.
I remember as a kid having puzzle books with pictures featuring lots of things that were wrong - and you had to spot them all. This article is a good illustration of such fun…
Here’s what I’ve found so far…
- Fat and salt are treated as being as unhealthy as sugar.
- Kellogg’s insists its sugary cereals are not as unhealthy as donuts and chocolate spreads.
- UK govt claims that moving cereal boxes around the store shelves will save taxpayers many billions in national health care costs.
- Gov’t delays allowing food companies to employ Buy-One-Get-One offers for another 12 months … because of “the cost of living crisis.”
- Judge says Kellogg’s can’t include info on cereal nutrition when milk is added, because the cereal boxes don’t include instructions on how to pour milk into a bowl of cereal.
- Judge agrees that Kellogg’s cereal can be part of a nutritious breakfast.
- Kellogg’s claims: “By restricting the placement of items in supermarkets, people face less choice and potentially higher prices.”
Okay, what other silliness did I miss?
