Keep buying Turkeys!

#1

I’m not the only idiot that’s going to keep buying Turkeys now that they’re at like $0.75/lb right? Figure I can get at least 3 more…

They keep for a good while in the freezer. No harm in stocking up

We just got another deep freeze so I’ll probably get a couple.
I may try to learn how to spatchcock one and put it on the smoker.

For the legs, I’ve done these sous vide, and they come out great. I assume the other parts would do as well with sous vide, but some of the parts can get pretty big.

We bought a turkey breast and I brined it and cooked it in the instant pot. I’m not a fan of turkey breast but it was pretty good.

Brining it definitely helps. I think it helps in overcooking (it’s more likely to survive) and in juiciness. The cooking technique (Instant pot in this case) helps too.

I used to despise turkey and chicken breasts (ate these way too much when I was on low fat), but if you get good animals and brine them or cook them using good techniques, they aren’t bad.
