I recently starting drinking coffee with just HWC and no sweeteners of any kind. I am trying to find a brand of coffee in the K-cups that tastes good enough that I do not need HWC so that I can start just drinking my coffee black. I really hate Maxwell House and Folgers. I tend to like doughnut house coffees, I think because they are medium roast. I usually like restaurant coffees as well though I never know the brand. I did have recently a brand of coffee called Dierich that was a morning edition medium roast that was delicious, but, I cannot find it anywhere. Any suggestions?
K-cup Coffee Brands suggestions with great flavor
Two I tend to use (with Amazon links):
I picked up a huge box of Starbucks French Roast in Costco but don’t really like it. I’m slowly making my way through it so it’s not wasted though.
Everyone has a different opinion on what’s a good coffee, of course. My recommendation would be Gevalia or Seattle’s Best. Both K-cups and beans. San Francisco Bay Coffee Company is another good one and their k-cups are biodegradable, if that’s a concern for you.
One other thing you might consider, a lot of coffee companies provide free (or cheap) samples of their K-cups to try. I use Slickdeals.net (warning, very addictive) to find these offers. Here’s one that’s current:

It’s a Folgers brand though.
My favorites are donut shop coconut mocha and nutty caramel. I tried the chocolate glazed donut but it was gross. The Folgers vanilla biscotti was pretty delicious as well
Before when I was using sweeteners I always drank flavored coffee, but now I am looking for just a regular blend that I can drink black. Thank you for your input though.
Thanks so much for the link. It would be awesome to try the free cups to see which I like. I greatly appreciate it.
If you find something that you like, you can always get one of those refillable pods and get the coffee in a larger bulk size. Might save some $$. I know sometimes those single use k-cups can get a little pricey.
Good luck!
They’re cheap. I think mine was like $4 at Walmart.
Actually, another thing I like about the refillable ones are you can adjust how much you put in. If you like it stronger, you can put in more. If you like it a little weaker, you can put in a little less. I kinda like having that flexibility. Or more for a bigger cup, less for a smaller one.
I usually end up coming back to Folgers. But I did try one that I got in a “bents, bumps & bargains” store a while back called “Peru Sunrise” that I really liked. Haven’t seen it since… of course, and just finished it a few days ago.
Got a bag of “Amish farm coffee” for like $1 at another of those little bargain stores that turns out has a big burst of caffeine but a rather thin cinnamon undertone that didn’t exactly wow us here. I figure we got what we paid for and won’t feel overly bummed if at some point it ends up in the trash. Peru Sunrise it ain’t.
It is kinda fun to try out various brands and varieties. Sometimes they work, sometimes not so much.
That’s a great idea. There is a discount store here named Ollie’s. I will check that out to see if I can find some cheap varieties. I’m definitely making a trip to Walmart for the refillable kcup. You’re the best!
