So, I was bad.
I broke my own rule on eating crap like Carbquick mix. I ate several Carbquick biscuits this morning because I am a weak, weak man. And a bit hungover.
Please, be honest. How f%#ked am I right now?

The bay-trees in our country are all wither’d
And meteors fright the fixed stars of heaven;
The pale-faced moon looks bloody on the earth
And lean-look’d prophets whisper fearful change;
Rich men look sad and ruffians dance and leap,
The one in fear to lose what they enjoy,
The other to enjoy by rage and war:
These signs forerun the death or fall of kings.
Shakespeare, Richard II
Actually, no big deal, Jay. Just go back to really limiting the carbohydrates and all will be well.
If you are a bit hungover then, maybe, your mistake was not carbquick (whatever that is) this morning but the alcohol last night? (As far as I am concerned - once the hangover is in place, anything is fair game.)
If you want a fabulous biscuit, make these bacon, cheese, almond flour biscuits. This is my single favorite food since I started cooking lchf.
You’re totally fucked. Might as well give up and have a box of donuts.
I’ve worked a bit with carbalose flour, which is basically the perverted (“improved”) wheat flour but at least without all the other crap ingredients in it. I use it to make baked goods for my hubby, who would live on processed carbs with a side of additives if he could. But IMO even Carbquik is a pretty minor infraction.
Been eating that beautiful stuff for years, making the family Belgian waffles with it tomorrow. I say your fine. Not that you should be making crap with it daily, but its fine for treats hear and there. The biscuits can be dangerous. I had a problem for a while doing bacon egg and cheese breakfast sandwiches on them. Now it’s pretty much just the waffles for me.
Update:
I actually lost weight since eating the carbquick, so it did not kick me out of ketosis or cause a stall.
I didn’t know carbquick was bad. I make pancakes with it when I’m tired of bacon and eggs. I take an egg and add heavy whipping cream a dash of vanilla and cinnamon. Then add just enough carbquick to make it batter consistency, then fry them in olive oil because I just love the crispy edges! Is this okay?
I just try to avoid anything that is processed. The more natural you eat, the better.
Just tried this recipe. No cream, so I substituted Cream Cheese and whole milk. Added some garlic, and poured bacon grease onto cookie sheet before spooning dough off. OMG! This is AMAZING! Thanks for this! I needed bread SOOOOoooo bad!
