I’d love for my chapped lips to improve, good to hear. I am only about three weeks in to my second Keto attempt. This thread is inspiring

Do you use a foam roller? My DH has to use it along with LCHF, some stretches from his PT, and it really helps him with the pain when it flares up. He can go for long periods with no pain and then bam, it is back.
We have this roller, not as hard to use as some of others

Migraines, BOOM! Gone when eating consistent keto, whenever slip into something sugary almost immediate head pain.
Overall in this thread its just looks like heavy carb and sugar gunks the body when eaten in an unaware manner. Healing slow, hearing down, skin condition becomes poor etc. Unless we are all lying how can people hear this and still be “fat killz yo” “save your heart, eat whole grain!” Honestly lol, i feel sad for the people that just do not get it
There’s a mechanism behind why
A friend of mine Elena Gross has done a lot of research into this
Her first patent was the mechanism to treat migraines with beta-hydroxybutyrate
I’m hoping to interview her one day on the podcast.
Well not really cured, but some healing is going on with my eyes… I have had to wear glasses since I was 2 yrs. old. My left eye only sees light and motion it has always been that way. A few nights ago, I looked at something to my left and I realized I was seeing my eye glass’s frame. I have never seen them, they dont move around. I closed my right eye and put up my hand and I could see it, and tell I was holding up 3 fingers. NEVER happened before in my life. If it isn’t moving, I don’t see it and it is just a blur when I do see it moving.
So I had recently gotten these new glasses, and I dug out my old script, my new script shows my over all vision has improved. Again, it has always gotten worse not better. I’ll never not need glasses but this improvement has me full of joy. Certainly never expected anything like this to happen.
Wow, it’s taken me several days to get through this thread, but what a read it’s been!!! It’s so encouraging, not only for me, but for family members that I’m trying to talk into trying keto.
I’ve been at this for about 2 months and so far:
Chronic pain in stomach gone
Completely cured of hypoglycemia
Gas gone
Pain in legs/knees decreasing greatly
RLS way better: though I mostly credit magnesium for that, I think the reduced inflammation also contributed
Sleeping better and waking up with far less pain
I’m getting constant compliments on my hair
Nails have always been paper thin, but are getting thicker
Skin softer
15 lbs down
Cellulite improving
Basic skin tone improving
An ability to fast for up to 18 hours so far.
The ability to enjoy a slice of cheesecake again (thank you erythritol!)
Less anxiety
I feel like I’m forgetting something.
Regarding mosquitos: I noticed when I cut sugar 2 years ago that I stopped getting eaten by mosquitoes. When I started keto and added sweeteners back, they started biting me again.
Excited to see if it helps with the gray hair.
Downfalls:
Apparently I’m now a snob according to dh (who refuses to try it)
Ok, I was just saying to my friend that I don’t want to attribute everything to keto, but I noticed I haven’t been getting bitten by mosquitoes lately, even when friends are getting bitten. (I don’t use a lot of sweeteners… only a little in my crepes.) I figured I’d wait till next peak mosquito season to be sure. I used to be quite tasty!
But people and animals were affected by mosquitoes long before sugar came into our diet. Maybe they prefer sugary people but will bite ketonians if that is their only choice?
Actually sugars have been in both animal and people’s diets for as long as plants have been producing fruit and bees making honey. Not sure when mosquitoes evolved, but if sugar attracts them, then they would have had plenty of animals, including us to snack on.
In 1998, long before science backed me up (though it does now back me up!) I had a life altering hypothesis that mosquitos were more attracted to a specific blood type (O+). 90% of people that I personally asked after having this great revelation, who claimed to be full course mosquito buffets, claimed to be O+, with the other 10% claiming to be either A+ or had no idea their blood type, further supporting that hypothesis. We O+ people apparently have sweeter blood. Someone ask me how I came to my original hypothesis…
A- here and I wish they would leave me alone. I guess I need to exhale less carbon dioxide, to start with.
Personally, my blood tastes really metallic - like copper with iron.
O- here and mosquitoes LOVE me. My Dad who is O+ they leave completely alone.
He laughs and says he is “too sour” but he is the sweetest man in the world!!!
All of the above and I don’t sleep at my desk anymore. mid day nap !!!
Yeah, I meant refined sugars, should’ve been more specific! And modern fruits have been bred to have more sugar than they naturally have. So even if people weren’t eating keto, they weren’t as sweet as they are now.
Me too, don’t know whether I have the HLA-b27 but I have AS and discovered low carb as a result of AS articles. Know on KETO and no longer need NSAIDs. Also ditched the blood pressure meds. I also use an inversion table to stretch my spine.
Improved concentration and no eye strain when staring at a computer screen for hours.
Also I noticed that night time driving was becoming an issue with glaring headlights and eyes not adjusting but now no longer an issue.
Take the snob bit as a compliment - it’s just a reaction of jealous people. In any response.
