Well nice one I hadn’t heard of this before congrats to you!

(8 year Ketogenic Veteran) #36

Wowowowow!
I’ve heard of people’s hair growing in thicker, but I haven’t heard of people’s hair regrowing when they had lost it!
The gray hair disappearing has happened to me. I actually was accused of coloring my hair. I’m 54 and have gray hair but not much and more has not grown in. So I already know that this is a possibility . wow good on him. He must be pretty happy about new hair growth

Yeah couple of you have listed all the things that the ketogenic diet of has done for you. I’m tempted to write out my long list here too. When I do, You better sit down because it’s long. LOL

(Jenn Monaghan) #38

Keto fixed these things for me:

IBS I had for 30 years
Low energy
Asthma
Allergies
Tingly/numb toe
Headaches
Anxiety/mood
Weight down 60 lbs so far

And the weirdest one: The limbal ring (ring around the iris) actually got thicker and darker like when I was younger. I’ve never seen anyone else mention this one…

Oh, (because it doesn’t give me pain anymore I forgot) I was down for a foot operation to try and alleviate severe pain from bunion on right foot. No operation but since Keto I’m now free of pain and walking 5 miles most days.

Sugar cravings

Since a couple of weeks into Keto, ive been free of (badly) craving sugar multiple times every day. It’s brilliant.

This was a huge win for me, too! I’ve had post-nasal drip for 20+ years and sinus infections were just a way of life. It’s amazing being able to take a deep, full breath.

(Tammy Kidd) #42

Type 2 diabetes, fatty liver, high blood pressure and sciatica!

(Carol O'Carroll) #43

I’ll second the fatty liver.
Hypoglycaemic episodes,
Anxiety (didn’t even know I had :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:),
No longer hangry and my day doesn’t revolve around getting home to eat.
Snoring,
Asthma,
Egg sensitivity ( mild windpipe restriction, but can eat them again now),
No longer obese,‪‪
Water retention,
Mood more stable, calmer,
Less irritability all round,
Able to exercise happily,
Could also move more easily even when not exercising,
Brain fog has cleared (I swear I have 10 IQ points more at least),
Blood pressure normal,
Able to cope better with stress and less risk averse.

One of the best wins is be able to sit in a restaurant like a civilised human being. Not becoming anxious because the food hasn’t arrived within 10 minutes. The chemicals were very strong and made me very reactive to smells.

I liken leaving the carbs behind, to loosing teenage friends who enticed you to live at the pub. Not really your friends!

So, the increased fat fixed your gall bladder issue? Do you think it was anything else?

(Candice) #45

@carolo Fixed my gallbladder too. I cycled off Keto 2 or 3 months and started having gallbladder attacks again. Once I went back to Keto, no more problems. Will not cycle off again. Keto only for this girl.

(Carol O'Carroll) #46

Can I ask if you were low fat before Keto please?

(8 year Ketogenic Veteran) #47

I have. I don’t remember where another ketopian talked about this, but someone did.

(Candice) #48

Yes, I was low fat at the time.

(Carol O'Carroll) #49

Thank you.
I’m wondering about low fat and IBS/SIBO and if there is a connection…

(Candice) #50

I’m not sure. I haven’t had problems with IBS or SIBO. Hormonal problems - definitely. Hope someone can give you more info!

(Candy Lind) #51

You stopped getting them? Or they go away? I haven’t noticed a change but would LOVE this to happen for me!

(8 year Ketogenic Veteran) #52

Many people have had them shrink and drop off on keto.

#53

Huh. I had no idea. My bf is very overweight and has dozens and dozens of skin tags all over his shoulders, arms, and upper back. I wonder what his A1C is.

(Candy Lind) #54

REALLY?!? Anyone know why? Guesses, even?
