James Corden and Weight Watchers

(Marianne) #1

Just saw that James Corden is becoming the spokesperson for a popular diet program after being unsuccessful losing weight for over fifteen years. I hope he’s aware of the statistics regarding long term success following this program. I find this so sad and wish for him that he would discover keto. For me, it’s been the only solution to a lifetime of obesity/overweight and food addiction, plus we can eat so well. He’s still young; I hope he discovers it someday.

A celebrity catch and big endorsement for Weight Watchers (aka WW). My bet is we’ll watch him lose the weight pound by pound, culminating in a final ‘weigh-in event’. Then just like the Biggest Losers he will disappear when he gains it all back again and more.

If you care, you could try to contact him.

Sadly, I’ve ridden that train…I lost a lot of money…and nothing else!!

(Marianne) #4

Yup; me, too. I lost weight a couple of times, but I gained it all back pretty quickly. And they say keto is expensive!

(Joey) #5

Imagine the possibilities: a major corporation pays us to eat keto … and we get to publicly endorse it? Crazy world.

#6

It’s a step on a wobbly path. He has not given up hope. Aren’t WW going more low carb these days anyway?

(Joey) #7

Okay quick, how about we trademark FatBombs :tm: while the getting’s good? There’s money to be made when WW eventually comes around.

Just like whoever sold them the www.ww.com domain.

Who is James Corden?

(UsedToBeT2D) #9

I am sure James Corden is getting a substantial endorsement fee.

So much of the basic knowledge things in life that should be passed to each generation with love and care are becoming monetised.

How messed up is the ketogenic way of eating world being stripped dry by self proclaimed entrepreneurs.

(Scott) #11

I’ll bet his compensation includes weight loss incentives.

(Polly) #12

He is a British actor and tv personality.

#13

A British guy that suffers delusions of being a comedian.

Were I only in that enviable position…

Ditto. I was a lifetime member at one point. Finally realized I couldn’t eat and track the way it took to stay at their goal weight and just yoyoed around all the time. Would always regain with a few extras usually too.

Keto/lchf/fasting has taken care of all that for me. No tracking, no more logging, just eating good foods and fasting if the scale looks like I might be gaining anything. Wish I had done this 40 yrs. ago.

I think the odds are with ye, Laddie. :slightly_smiling_face::+1:

On the other hand, he might just find the way that works for him. We say that to other keto folks… “you do you”. I wish him well. No matter how much compensation he’s receiving, it takes “guts” to try to lose weight in the public eye.

(KCKO, KCFO 🥥) #18

I agree. It is hard enough doing it privately.

I just know so many x-ww like myself that didn’t get lasting results.

(UsedToBeT2D) #19

Oprah, but the money is nice.

Yep, Weight Watchers Corp have not let the Keto trend slip by.

James will lose weight, and hopefully get healthier. We can check in with him in 2 years. But it would be amazing to see his metabloic markers pre-start and all the way through to 2 years later. Yes, I am advocating that James Corden becomes a guinea pig.

Look at how they twist keto into a high protein version - looks like a protein sparing fast type eating. Fantastic for weight loss but… [insert your opinion here]
