Jack Sprat was probably fat

(Avocado a day keeps the doctor away.) #1

I was think of the nursery rhyme that goes:

Jack Sprat would eat no fat.
His wife would eat no lean.
But, together both they
licked the platter clean.

Now, all the pictures associated with this rhyme show a super skinny Jack with his fat wife.

But if Jack’s eating all carbs and his wife is high fat but low carb, he could very well be the obese one and his wife the skinny one!

IDK, it only said he didn’t eat the fat, could be a protein-sparing modified fast.

Yes, it was a joke. “What if Jack’s wife ate all the fat because she was keto?”

My husband always quotes this poem. He’s thin, I was fat. He eats lots of carbs and stays thin. I eat lots of fat but… I am losing weight.

Only if his wife were named Jill.
