Italian restaurant

(Steve) #1

I have just started and just in ketosis.and need to go to dinner for a bday next week to a fancy Italian restaurant . I have no idea what to get except salads. Everything else is breaded or pasta etc

(Lazy, Dirty Keto šŸ˜) #2

Fish and veggies, chicken and veggies, meatballs if no breadcrumbs are added (ask server)

(Steve) #3

Thanks thetebis no chicken there except breaded. I don’t like seafood but I guess I have to
Learn to like. Thanks I forgot about the veggies

(BT3100) #4

Veal chop!

(Bob M) #5

I get meatballs even if breaded (sometimes, you have to get close). Do they have any sausage? Spaghetti with meat sauce, and just get the meat sauce?

(Cancer Fighting Ketovore :)) #6

I sub broccoli for pasta. It’s not sure-fire, since it’s hard to know what’s in the sauce.

But, you can try looking online at their menu to see what you can modify.

(Full Metal KETO AF) #7

Antipasto platter, capresi salad

Don’t they have steak? You said it’s a fancy place.

(You've tried everything else; why not try bacon?) #8

Mussels, clams, calamari. . . .

(Alec) #9

My favourite meal: veal scalopine ai funghi with veg. A few carbs in the sauce, but it’s blooody gorgeous. :grinning:

(Frank) #10

Seafood pasta. Just leave the pasta.

(Carl Keller) #11

Steak or salmon and vegetables.

Or even better would be steak and salmon with vegetables.

#12

italian restaurants, if they’re anything worth their sancerre, will have a salumi/formaggi selection. even before keto, i would order that with a bottle of wine. yum!

(i realize sancerre is french but it was the closest i could think of to salt :disappointed_relieved:)

(Running from stupidity) #13

I dislike Italian food generally, so I’d eat before going and then not eat there.

But, you know, plenty of my ideas aren’t what other people want to do, I get that.

#14

!!! sacrilege

(Running from stupidity) #15

I like cabbage lasagna now, does that help? And taco bolognese

#16

no!!

(Running from stupidity) #17

Ah well, bad luck then

#18

more for me

(Running from stupidity) #19

Suits me. I’ve always just found it to be too heavy. I really dislike pasta in all its forms.

(You've tried everything else; why not try bacon?) #20

Even bacon noodles?
