Split a vanilla bean open, scrape out seeds, add to your recipe.

In a small flask, throw the vanilla bean carcass in macadamia oil.

Continue doing this…using seeds for recipes, and throwing carcasses in oil. Then you will have scented oil. As you use the oil, replace with fresh oil.

Another alternative is throw the vanilla bean carcasses in stevia syrup, or in a dry artificial sweetener. For example, add vanilla bean carcasses in your vat of Truvia. It will impart a very strong vanilla scent in the sweetener.

I make my own with organic vanilla beans…but I do use a very good vodka…so there is alcohol. But no other additives…so Maybe it’s better than store bought???

We’ve started making our own in vodka. Haven’t tried it yet, has to sit for a month or so apparently.

And to answer the original question, no, we’ve been unable to find a sugar free one.

I’ve made my own in two styles, vodka and bourbon. I like the bourbon one better. My friend used the bean pods after soaking to make vanilla paste.

the glycerine in that vanilla extract, while not terrible can illicit an insulin response. I believe it is thought of as being low glycemic, but it is still a carbohydrate so take that into consideration…
