I personally never understood Saladino, even when he was advocating carnivore. But if oxalates were his problem, I’m not sure how honey and fruit would solve that problem.
If these are examples of oxalate dumping symptoms, I’ve never had any of these:
Though I’m probably very even in oxalate intake: I drink 1-1/4 cup of coffee per day; 1 cup of pu-erh tea; maybe some chocolate. That’s pretty much it.
That could explain it, then: he’s got a lot of oxalate dumping, feels bad, so he eats berries, which increase oxalates, therefore limiting/reducing dumping; he feels better.
I have no idea whether this is true, but it seems plausible.
I eat spinach all the time, at kale the other day for the first time (neighbor made something with it, actually tasted awesome) that crap DESTROYED me! Felt like literal death, bloated, felt like I had the flu, wasn’t right for 3 days! Reading up on it, seems that’s not that uncommon with some people in Kale, looks like I had it right all those years NOT eating it!
I read that about tea as well. Love Sally’s story.
Try White and Green teas, they have the least oxalates.

If I understand Sally K. Norton’s lectures correctly, the clearing of oxalate requires intake below a certain level. Above that, the oxalate gets stored. The rate of dumping can be somewhat controlled by eating a small amount of oxalates.
Although getting rid of stored oxalates is a good thing, the problem comes when the rate of excretion is too fast. Oxalate crystals are very sharp, and they can damage the tubules in the kidneys, for example. Sally Norton says that the lucky people are the ones who can shed oxalate crystals through their skin, since it means their kidneys are protected that way.
Calcium supplements are very helpful for getting rid of oxalates, since oxalate ions bond the most readily to calcium of all the metals in the body. Taking supplements helps protect the calcium in the bones.

Apparrently, they provide enough oxalic acid to keep his oxalate dumping at a manageable level.
