And I was serious about liverwurst which is really good (even for people like me who hate liver) and doesn’t have any of the bad stuff.

Don’t fear the nitrates in cured meats, you’re not afraid of celery are you? It has many times more nitrates in a couple of stalks than a whole pound of bacon does.

I just think that salted fatty meat that can survive a decade vacuum sealed is so cool. If our ancestors had SPAM, they would have used it.
Anyone tried grilling it like sausage? I’ve done shish kabob with veggies.

Well, one reason SPAM might not be at the top of the good-keto-foods-list is the packaging.
(For me, anything with a long shelf-life is suspect.)

Spam is an international phenomena
I grew up in Hawaii, Spam is a mainstay there and I actually do like it. In fact I actually opened a can the other night because I was craving something salty, thinly sliced and fried till crispy, yum! While it may not have the ideal macros, it works for me and I always keep a few cans around. Spam, eggs and rice ono! Though, no more rice for me.
Actually- it has almost perfect macros. It’s deficient in micros & has some preservatives that shouldn’t be ingested in large volume…
