Is my daily 90% dark chocolate treat endangering my Keto state?

(Bansaw) #1

I am having a couple of squares of chocolate a day. Its 90% , ~1 gram of sugar per square.
Would this be affecting my ability to get fully fat-adapted or to stay in a keto state?

Or do I need to oust sugar altogether?
I’ve been on Keto for 12 weeks now.
…maybe I should get a KetoMate blood tester to see where I am…?

I just got a blood-sugar lab test done and its encouraging, down from 6.5 to 5.9 after 12 weeks of keto. Creatinine slightly high but I am doing more protein I suppose.

My Keto-Mojo Keytone reading is 2.0 - should I be concerned?

This ^ is great!!! congratulations!

Many folks here have a square or two of dark chocolate without a problem. If you have doubts, though, you could 1) test your ketones or 2) you could cut it out for now, and when you’re sure you’re fat adapted and are used to how everything feels when you’re in a fat-burning groove, try adding it back in and see how you feel and how your body responds.
