Hi all, I just wanted to introduce my self.
I’m about a month in and seeing positive progress:
The food is good (although I’m not a huge bacon guy, breakfast sausage FTW)
Bulletproof coffee is awesome.
Making progress with swimming for exercise, but I’m still bad at it.
I’ve been able to eliminate my heartburn medicine. (replaced with ACV)
Keto flu sucked but I’m past it. I suffered general muscle fatigue and massive brain fog.
While I have lost weight, the best benefits I’ve noticed were the exact opposite of my keto flu symptoms; I feel more energetic and mentally clear. This is important as my job can be potentially dangerous and I have to pay very close attention to detail so I don’t get injured or worse. Also the fact that I don’t crash after lunch is beneficial because the job is physically demanding.
My wife thinks I’m a little crazy but she’s supportive except for the fact that I don’t eat when I’m not hungry. I haven’t (intentionally) fasted yet but I would like to experiment after I am adapted. Going to be tough for her to understand the concept I think.
I would like my wife to join along with me but I will not ask her to. She is starting to see the changes in me. She has been trying to eat “healthier” with me but hasn’t lost any weight. I will do my best to guide her if she wants to join along. Although she hasn’t lost weight she has shown significant improvements in her swim endurance!
Swimming is hard people!
I eat a lot of whitetail venison, usually 2 deer/year. I also butcher my own deer. It is very time consuming but I love being able to process it the way that I like. I’m making a copycat Chipotle barbacoa recipe today using venison sirloin roasts.
My goal weight changes in my head a lot, but I am either 49 or 54 lbs away from my goal.
Did I mention the food is good?
Also, I have two cats. One is a bengal cat. She is super cool. My other cat is cool too, but not as cool as the bengal. The bengal plays fetch and is very good at it. She returns her mouse and will drop it in my hand. I like playing with her a lot but if I don’t want to play I throw it from the first floor to the second floor. Within 5 throws she gets tired and plops down.
I think that is everything important about me.
This forum is cool, thanks to everyone that participates.
Introduction from Rob
Welcome!
I had a Bengal cat around 10years ago I got at a shelter and he had such unusual markings I looked it up and discovered I had a Bengal.
He LOVED to play fetch! And loved water, too. We lived in a rent house on a small community golf course and there were no backyard fences so the golfers could retrieve their golf balls out of your back yard. One day my husband was out mowing and a golfer walked up and said “You got that cat trained pretty good!”. He asked what he meant and the golfer said our cat darted out onto the green, grabbed his golf ball in his mouth and ran back to our yard. My husband laughed and said he wondered why he had to pick up so many golf balls before he mowed!!
That is funny!! Bengals are known to like water, but mine doesn’t show that behavior. They are a cool looking breed. They are very vocal, intelligent and extremely energetic. Another positive is that they are mostly hypoallergenic and don’t shed as much as a typical house cat.
I agree. Very intelligent. Mine would paw at the water faucet in the sink and was fascinated with our small pond out back and would dip his paws and head in it!
