Thanks Cathy and Allie for the warm welcome and comments its really comforting to know others understand about this, my meter just flashes red at me “Low Low Low” and it’s like oh my goodness, then I stop, pause, think, then ASK and it’s great. It’s great being off meds!

BlockquoteI get readings in the threes sometimes. I asked my GP about this and he assured me that as I wasn’t taking any glucose lowering medications/herbal supplements that lower glucose levels that this wouldn’t be a problem. It never has been. Congratulations on achieving such fabulous results!!

Blockquote I sometimes get readings that low too. If you feel OK, don’t worry.
Don’t know if I’ve done this correctly but I’m sure I’ll learn

That’s why I’m leaving! When I went to one of the Drs to ask to come off statins, her words were “Your liver does not function like mine and you need all the help you can get (meaning all my meds) AND NO healthy eating or diet will put that right!” So after our blood test 5th March we are off! I just want them to see before I go that healthy eating can do a LOT!! I’m a bit more informed now so I need a dr who will work with me so I can stay well, it’s not to much to ask is it? Don’t know whats happening Candy really don’t.
Anyway I’m off and away this weekend hubby’s birthday treat

Oh my word! The thyroid is a master gland!! That’s terrible ! I’m sorry to hear that but not shocked. In Ontario Canada I have to pay out of pocket for an adequate thyroid workup.

By low BG that’s asymptomatic, I mean you’re walking around like there no problem. Usually with a BG in the 3s most are feeling a little confused and irritable. Sometimes cold and sleepy.

Thanks Karen I get it now! Yes it is a terrible attitude but shows a lot about her knowledge and she is the ONLY nurse your allowed to see because she is supposed to be the specialist and drug prescribe’r. Look at another post I wrote about the Dr she sent me to about the statin’s! That Dr is their Diabetic specialist and she had a really bad attitude to me I think because of what I was asking and I presume what the nurse had written. I am now so well I feel I can tackle the thyroid issue just looked at your blog and I will have to get informed more ready for new Drs
I don’t feel cold anymore, not confused, irritable - not in general, sleepy - yesterday I had an unusual cat nap my BG was 3.4 mid afternoon 4ish, that seems to be the only thing really. Can’t get to new Dr until after the 5th March.
Thanks for your help AND support :sunny:
