Intro - New to this forum and Newly Restarted, but not New to Keto

#1

Hey! I’m Kelly, I’m 29 and female. I’ll be 30 in a few months.

I found out about keto from Reddit in 2011 and have been on and off since then. For the most part, my job and outside influences (ex boyfriends, family members, friends, etc.) have caused me to stray time and time again. (You try working at a pizza place when you’re attempting to go low carb! It’s pretty hard.)

I’ve lost roughly 90 pounds since my highest weight, but on keto alone, most likely between 40-50 pounds.

I came here to get and give support, and to make some connections with people! Personally, I’m heading back to zero carb long term, and this is a permanent lifestyle change for me. I would be especially interested in talking with people who do this as well! I am also intending to get back into athletics, so that’s another aspect I would love to discuss with someone.

Thanks for reading! And please, if you’d like to introduce yourself, do so!

Fathead pizza and all that cheese!:hugs: hope you can stick with it this time,
My husband was very anti keto when i first started, but hes seen my results and now hes asking questions and supports my fasts! Just be strong

Pizza these days just don’t seem to have the same thing as back in the early 90s.
I did make a cauliflower crust pizza and it was so good my kids ate it!
I’d like to go zero carbs, there is an alarming amount of sugar in everything including celery apparently! The struggle is real!
(and ridiculous) :joy:

I’m newly back to keto as well! I have several autoimmune diseases and weight loss is incredibly hard for me so really reducing inflammation is my main keto goal! I find I have less joint pain and stiffness (from rheumatoid arthritis) when on keto.

I turn 31 today! And this is my first forum post

I was diagnosed with celiacs almost 6 years ago, so it’s easier for me to avoid temptation since regular bread and pizza or whatever isn’t an option. I love fathead doughs, and just
discovered a fabulous yeast bread recipe from gnom gnom that I’ll definitely make again!

Don’t fear carbs from veggies that have fiber! I did jump start myself this time with an “egg fast” just eating eggs and butter and cheese but that’s not a sustainable way of eating long term, and I also know I get back into ketosis easily and it would work for me! But really, brocolli and cauliflower and leafy greens and avocado and all are your friends! Break the tedium and provide nutrients.

Thank you for replying.
I thought about it yesterday and it dawned on me that I just don’t know how I have dealt with things prior action in keto.
I must have consumed 100-200 carbs/day easily! My assumption for myself is I am paying attention to my intake and battling with the reality of nutrition and lively hood.
I’m 43 years old and knew way back that 40 marks more than aging, a lot of folks are introduced to health concerns and scares!
I’ve just got to adjust and figure out what makes me weigh and stay in my physical longevity.

Welcome back into the fold. For most people, it takes several attempts to make it stick. Good luck. What’s the plan?
