Topic: Insulin Resistance from the Bottom Up
Interviewing Ivor Cummins for Monday's episode of 2 Keto Dudes
When Ivor talks about anything lately, especially in his recent YouTube video on Insulin and Cholesterol, it often circles around to Coronary Artery Calcium (CAC) Score.
Some medical professionals have said that the CAC Score is not good because it doesn’t measure the soft plaque, but my point is that the soft plaque is still forming and not yet calcified, so the CAC is a snapshot of the coronary arteries at some point in the recent past, but I don’t know how long it takes for plaque to calcify.
Does anyone, including Ivor, know how long it takes for arterial plaque to calcify for it to show up on a CAC?
Bill, did you ever find out the answer to this? I’m interested as well.
It might be in the ‘Widowmaker’ documentary, but I haven’t seen it yet.
