Interesting to hear more comments and a link as well regarding “problems” with cheese…I have a problem, I LOVE cheese. But my BG has not been improving as I would like it too and therefore I am sure that my (self-diagnosed/suspected hyperinsulinemia) is being greatly impacted by my cheese indulgence? It seems likely, and I hate to consider this as truth because of my love of cheese.
Has anyone got ANY ideas or strategies that may help me to curb, or even stop, the cheese hound in me? Thank you for any pointers here. I’d love to see these BG numbers come down and stabilize.
Insulin DOESN'T make you fat? Really?
the chart i linked cheese was not that high compared to other protein foods. There is no whey in cheese and this protein does cause a major insulin response. But the insulin response from protein in cheese that is casein is not that much higher then other proteins and in many cases it is lower. If your goal for protein a day say is 100g and you want the least amount of insulin impact from that protein what proteins would you eat? Most foods with protein that have lower insulin response because there is less grams of protein per serving. Plant protein has the lowest insulin response but also as the poorest amino acid profile per gram. So to get the same benefits from plant protein you would have to eat more of it increasing the insulin response overall in the end.
