Insert obligatory I stopped losing weight post

(Jane) #21

^^^This

Think of the opposite… raise your hand if you avoid the scale when you KNOW you are eating crap and gaining weight? Do you weigh everyday while pigging out and buying larger jeans? I would be shocked if you did.

Avoid the scale like you do when gaining weight. Quit using it to measure your success with keto. The weight loss will come. It won’t be steady or linear.

The weight gains will happen. It doesn’t mean you are doing anything wrong. It means your body chemistry is a lot more complicated than you are giving it credit for.

Aye, it’s the SECOND point in my noobs guide, right after the 20gcarbs/day bit.

(Cindy) #23

I’ve stopped reading your noobs guide. hehe, I keep seeing it EVERY WHERE! I wonder why…

#24

It’s an awesome thing to have though - I’d be less inclined to answer some posts if it wasn’t available :slightly_smiling_face:

(Running from stupidity) #25

I haven’t changed it much, weirdly enough, so I don’t really blame you. I mean, it’s like reading the stop sign at the end of the street, there’s no real need, you know what it says

(Cindy) #26

Agreed! I’ve debated creating a canned response, too. Just too lazy even though I know it’d be easier in the long run.

(Jane) #27

I could break down my advice to noobs in 3 simple bullet points.

  • Eat.when.hungry

  • Eat.real.food

  • Carbs < 20

Do that for a month. No macros. No getting on the scale. Simple. After fat-adaption then tweak the macros, stop the snacking, reduce the fat, etc.

(Full Metal KETO AF) #28

Apparently @Cory_Allaire didn’t like any of this advice or comments…:face_with_monocle:

(Running from stupidity) #29

January turnover is high

(Janelle) #30

This is amazing and to be commended!

(Janelle) #31

I know the “regulars” get tired of answering N00B questions. I was one myself 4 months ago and I am grateful to those who offered advice. Do people read and research? Maybe not as much as they should, but commenting on how tired you are of the questions just makes people feel unwelcome here and drives people away.

Is that what you want? If not, then maybe just don’t comment.

This and for new folks to stop comparing themselves to the biggest keto loser on (insert social media here).

(Banting & Yudkin & Atkins & Eadeses & Cordain & Taubes & Volek & Naiman & Bikman ) #33

Patience, grasshopper. And probably you should eat a bit more.

(squirrel-kissing paper tamer) #34

I agree with this. The unique thing about this forum is how dignified and kind people are, when compared to the shit behavior on many forums and the anarchy that is FB. I think new people with high expectations should be told the truth about what to expect and not admonished for asking.

(Running from stupidity) #35

However, there’s asking and then there’s asking.

(squirrel-kissing paper tamer) #36

And there’s replying and then there’s replying.

(Running from stupidity) #37

yes I’m out of likes again. stupid software

(squirrel-kissing paper tamer) #38

We need to come up with a universal way to like after likes are out. Let’s brainstorm.

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

I was hoping to save you some characters, but yes, it gets the job done.
