Increased Ketone Levels!

I thought folks who are interested in tracking their numbers and such might find this interesting. I also hope this is welcome here since it’s about spinning indoors.

I’ve been riding every day for the past 5 days on my new Peloton bike, and I hadn’t done any exercise for years before getting the bike. I’ve been doing keto about 5 months. I semi-regularly check my ketone blood levels, and before I got the bike I was at 1.5mmol. I just checked today, and I was at 4.0mmol. That seemed surprisingly high, so I checked again immediately after and I was at 3.5mmol. My blood glucose was at 84. So even on the low end my GKI (glucose/ketone index) is about 1.2. I’m enjoying finally getting moving again and I was going to continue on regardless, but it’s encouraging to see exercise having an immediate effect.

I have had the same results with a expresso bike at the gym. After about 2 hrs and 20 miles my ketone levels go over 5.
