Does this mean my blood pressure will go down?

(I haven’t read the article, I’m too lazy today.)

It’s weird but they never use the term hypertension here. Maybe because hypertension can have numerous factors involved, not just arterial flexibility. But could be one factor.

Stiffening of the arteries is a result of damage to the arterial wall, and it is a direct cause of heart damage, because as the arteries stiffen, they also become narrower, and blood clots can get stuck and damage the heart. The heart has tiny arteries that provide its blood supply; as these stiffen and thicken, the risk of a clot’s getting stuck and damaging the heart is really high. My understanding is that hypertension is not a factor here (it is more related to stroke, I believe), but the increased speed of the blood rushing through stiffer arteries, which the article mentions, is more likely to cause a clot to form in the first place, and slower-moving blood is less likely to clot.
