As of today I am officially overweight! I’m no longer obese!!! I’ve lost 45 lbs and I feel great. I’ve been stalled for a few weeks since vacation. I decided I needed to shake things ups and quit eating so much cheese. I printed out a dietdoctor.com 2 week plan and I lost 3 lbs this week. It’s been pretty nice not to have to think about what we are going to have for dinner. Just look at the sheet!
I'm finally overweight!
Yay!!! It’s such a good feeling! I have a chart with different statistics like weight, BMI, percentiles, pounds lost, percentage lost, etc. I have aligned my goals with different milestones in that group, and being “overweight” was one of my first goals!
The cheese will get you!! I made fathead pizza last week, and had a lot of it. I usually don’t have so much rich food daily, for so many days. It was a trying week across a lot of fronts, but I feel like having all that pizza (made of cheese!) was in the category of “things that didn’t work so well” and threw me off.
I will have to check out the diet doctor plans. I have done my first extended fast this week, so I know what you mean about not thinking about dinner! haha.
Congratulations!!! Knowing other people hit these goals makes them feel more attainable!
The awesome thing about “overweight” is that for a lot of people it really isn’t. It’s a grey zone that can and does include the ideal weight for a lot of people depending on their specific build and activity level.
Right! I doubt I will ever be at their standard. That would put me at less than my high school weight. I’m 60 years old and don’t need to look like a teen as long as I am healthy. I would like to lose about 18 more lbs and see where I go from there. As long as my blood sugar is good and my knees don’t hurt I’m good!
The nice thing about eating this way is your body will settle on the weight it needs to be. For those who say “don’t lose too much” or various annoying quips, can be told: “This is self-limiting so don’t you be concerned.” Congrats on doing the work and getting healthy again. You both look maaauuvelous!!!
Great news!
My BMI reached 24 today so I am now average and not overweight.
Yay for NSV!
I told myself when I stated that I woukd be happy with overweight and I was. That being said I’m not going to lie and say it wasn’t a good feeling realizing I had slipped into the “normal” weight range. Even though I don’t put a lot of stock in “normal” and currently flirt back and forth between normal and overweight. That in itself seems funny when I realize that one day I can be overweight and the next not. Just keep doing your thing and make sure you feel good. That’s a way better indicator of how you are doing than a number or calculation.
Thank you for posting this. I have not checked my BMI in a long time. I lost 35 # by last November and no more weight loss , but did loose 4inches since. And I feel thiner now. But I had not checked my BMI since last August. So I checked my BMI today and went from Obese to overweight last summer and now am in the Normal range. If you had not posted I would not have even checked it. Congrats on the weight loss hang in here. You can do this
