I'm brand new to the Keto lifestyle and flying blind

.
I’m on day 10 of Keto and I went through pretty bad bout of headache, nausea, stomach cramps and weakness between days 4-7, then felt fine but woke up this morning feeling weak, nauseous and diarrhea today ( sorry for being indiscreet). I have been pretty strict with highest macro carb day percentage of 7% and averaging 5% carbs , 70% fat and 25% protein … any thoughts? I do drink plenty of water. Probably 1.5-2 litres a day. I just bought some Ketosticks today as well.

Have you increased your salt? I’m not positive, but I think on Keto we need about 5g of sodium per day. I got tons of migraines and some nausea in the beginning. A little pink salt dissolved on my tongue would make me feel all better! I finally ordered sodium chloride tablets and started taking one after each meal and that worked wonders.

Drink more. More salt + potasium.

No I had not I will try right away thank you!

I generally have a low salt intake so this is great information thanks. I have not felt this sick in years

That might explain the muscle cramps as well. It seems I every time I use a muscle it locks up.

250 or so of chelated Mg is good at night too. Low Mg can also cramp you up.

It usually makes people tired, hence the night suggestion, but in some people it’s the opposite.

Search the forum for Brenda’s Ketoaide. It has a different kind of Mg even.

Thank you . I appreciate everyone taking the time out of their evenings to help.

Holy crap. My instincts scream salt. I’m virtually pouring it in your mouth right now. Lol

Not funny though, low sodium is not a good thing.

TWO TO THREE TEASPOONS A DAY BUD

(NOT all at once! Spread throughout the day.)

Thank you lol I work at a stork with a wellness store in it so will see if we have sodium tabs tomorrow. I just checked my sodium intake for week on my fitness pal and it’s super low. So I’m guessing u are all correct. Thank you so much.
