I was given an Echo dot by my employer. I tested it for a bit, and was tempted to keep it hooked up for playing music, but at the end of the day, the creepy spy aspect outweighed any convenience, since I can just as easily use the Amazon Music app on my phone, and at least then it’s just the music parts that get spied on. So the dot is unplugged, until or unless I want to run some IoT app experiments with it.
