If you don't have anything nice to say

(Running from stupidity) #369

You need to get a grip, bloke. If it’s IRREFUTABLE that what they experience is THE REALITY, WTF can any of us do about it? You’re effectively saying that it’s an endogenous issue, not an exogenous one.

Same. I wish the forum software was smart enough to stop pretending that it was allowing you to like posts when you’re not, though.

So … ah … business as usual then, you’re saying?

(TJ Borden) #370

Finally…

It gave me 2, then cut me off again

(Running from stupidity) #371

Lucky bastard. I got ONE.

#372

You know, occasionally, you can have some pretty lucid thoughts.

(TJ Borden) #373

Emphasis on “occasionally” :rofl::rofl::rofl:

(Running from stupidity) #374

I thought the emphasis was on “know.”

Or perhaps “endogenous/exogenous,” I was pretty happy with that

#375

That’s a great video - with non sneezy kittez!

#376

Oh, I thought your wife wrote that part.
My comment was directed at the “WTF can any of us do about it?” sentence.

Maybe we should rename this thread:

If you don’t have anything nice to say…say it anyway!

or

If you don’t have anything nice to say…reminisce about your first computer and post some pet pictures while you’re at it!

Is there a mod flag to recommend this?

^An example of what Nassim Nicholas Taleb has dubbed ‘neomania’ in that rhetoric.

Seen in modernism and postmodernism’s dismissal of historical, and even biological reality in deference to identity politics that seek to silence the complexity, and maturity, of civil discourse. Contrived fragilities and drama narratives often deny the fact that the absolute and relative coexist, and that grown folks gotta be grown folks. Such tendencies often trump critical thinking, nuanced reasoning, ethics, and community decorum (which I would’ve liked to have seen you try harder at).

(Running from stupidity) #380

Not words you normally see in a sentence that includes “trump.”

#381

Lololol - so true. I didn’t slow down enough to seek out a synonym. I suppose “top” or “triumph over” would work and will keep that in mind…

(Running from stupidity) #382

Nah, don’t let him subvert the language as well

(Jessica) #383

'tis the nature of the internets

#384

 the peeps at work are going to start wondering about me…and my random loud bursts of laughter. I love this thread.

(Jane) #385

If you don’t have anything nice to say…

Pat them on their arm and say “Bless your little heart”

(TJ Borden) #386

They’re going to think keto makes you crazy…

Actually, they may be right

#387

She’s gone mad I tell you muhahaha

(Jane) #388

You are obviously an underdog defender regardless of the circumstances. Nothing wrong with that. Underdogs need defenders!

But her other thread DEMANDING a list of zero protein foods with low carbs was beyond the pale. Might have some bearing on the responses she/he gets here.
