Ideas for packing coolers for all day outings

I’m doing great planning and preparing head for meals so I can easily pack my food for work (where a microwave is easily available).
But I have a 14 year old son who has all kinds of all day sporting events. Sometimes it means spending 8-10 hours at a wrestling meet or a 2 day baseball tournament which means packing a cooler.
Without access to microwaves, can anyone make suggestions as to things that can travel well and stay well in a cooler? I may need to prepare to pack for my entire daily food intake at times.

Most anything  My go to when travelling and using a cooler is rotisserie chicken. I’ll also take nori wraps if I want a “sandwich” and whatever fillers I want for them.

I know Thermos makes some wide mouth canisters now that you can keep hot foods hot for hours on end in situations that you have something that would work in a hot hold scenario (broths, soups, burger, roasts)

Cooked bacon, hard sausage, cheese, HWC, nuts, sliced roast meats, pretty much anything if you have a cooler. Just prep and portion.

Maybe a tuna or chicken salad (since you have a cooler)?

Thanks for all the ideas. I’ve been following meal plans so far, just to make sure I’m staying within my carb limits without any guess work, but the meals I’ve been preparing wouldn’t pack well. Other than the salads, most need to be reheated.
Also the morning drinks like Rocket Fuel Latte wouldn’t keep well if not consumed right away or reheated.
This gives me a lot of options. Though I am going to have to step up and start tracking my macros if I vary from the meal plans. Not that I didn’t do it all the time when I was on a low fat diet, but I was enjoying the freedom from doing it now.

I made some sausage balls with almond flour and they were surprisingly delicious hot or cold. So those would keep well in a cooler and be a good fatty snack for energy.

Could you share the recipie?

Hard boiled eggs! My personal Go-To!

Carl’s pizza or Fathhead pizza. Easy and great cold.

One of my kids wrestled. Those are some long, long days in smelly gyms that would start before dawn. I preferred track, with the late starts and spring fresh air and sunshine.

I would IF through breakfast with coffee and take a big salad with some kind of meat and a fatty dressing, or lunchmeat roll-ups plus veggies and dip, nuts, salami, the usuals. Then we would usually stop somewhere on the way home for dinner.

Most of the cooler would be devoted to food for teenage boys. Wrestling and track are hungry sports.

Hey! Sorry for the delay, crazy work schedule! Here’s the recipe I used. Had a happy accident and doubled the butter. Super tasty.

Back in the 90’s I was in a band (Pink Floyd Tribute) that would often go 12 to 15 hours for gigs on the weekends. This was before keto. But I would always make a big bowl of chicken salad and ham salad (and bring a big loaf of bread :smirk:).

And now… I’m craving ham salad.
