"I never thought I'd love cabbage"...heard at my dinner table last night

We’ve been eating a lot of cabbage since going Keto - stirfries, casseroles, or just sautéed in lots of butter. Last night as he enthusiastically dug into “stuffed cabbage casserole” made with hot Italian sausage and cheese, topped with creme fraiche, hubby remarked on how much he had come to love cabbage. He grew up hating cooked cabbage. Same goes for cauliflower and zucchini noodles!

What foods have you grown to love on Keto? No points awarded for saying bacon!

I think many of us grew up on overcooked steamed veggies because that was the “healthy” way to prepare them. I find that many veggies that I didn’t care for are quite nice roasted and coated with copious amounts of butter and bacon nectar. Brussel Sprouts is probably my largest transformation.

Need this recipe please. Thanks

Number one thing… broccoli & 2nd is Brussel sprouts… oh and cooking with lard… consuming at least a stick of butter a day…

Brussels spouts in bacon nectar on tonight’s menu. Aside roast pork shoulder with cracklings

And yes, use enough butter and cheese and it all tastes great!

Hi @farmgirl, I used this recipe from diet doctor but I used 2 pounds of hit Italian sausage instead of 1 pound of ground beef. Also added some oil to offset the extra protein

Same here…until keto bacon roasted I could never choke them down. Now…yum!

It’s because the cabbage is soaking in lard
