I need help, is this keto friendly?

That price is not normal lol, guessing that’s a marketplace ad maybe? Natural Grocers carries this in a variety of flavors, no more than $15-16/jar, hopefully she didn’t pay more :confused:

This is what I get from looking on Amazon.ca for this product:

It is interesting how the 2 pack has a $16.54 shipping cost, yet the single bottle is free shipping. I am not ordering any; but was just curious. The Cacao Bliss one doesn’t mention the shipping cost.

I didn’t buy it my cousin bought it for me I didn’t ask her to price I just researched it.

Karla I would like to weigh in on this, but an internet search for ingredients was unavailable and even Amazon usually has good pictures of labels but didn’t show the ingredients. Can you photo and post the list from the jar please? :cowboy_hat_face:

Organic Coconut Butter, Organic Cacao Nibs, Organic Coconut Sugar.

But she didn’t ask that… She asked if it was Keto friendly ? It could be slam full of 937 artificial ingredients, but if it had lower (or zero) carbs, yes, it would be keto friendly.

Seems kind of high in carbs to me, but I guess if you used only a little, mixed into a lot of low carb food, it might be okay.

(bulkbiker) #27

Yep and as its over 20% carbs I still think its bad… that is not a keto friendly product.

(bulkbiker) #28

Me too… best use keto to clean up the diet and eating crap like that is not cleaning up the diet?

(Dirty Lazy Keto'er, Sucralose freak ;)) #29

Mark, IMPO, dirty Keto will be 95-100% as good for a person, as all natural, unprocessed, grass fed, wild caught, totally organic Keto.

In fact, if all of the stipulations needed for clean Keto, are enough to make a person say, “Screw this… its too expensive, and too much work”, but they are able to stay with dirty Keto because its cheaper and easier, then dirty Keto will be a much better choice.

(bulkbiker) #30

Something that is 20% carbs cannot really be considered even “dirty keto” though can it really?

Eat what you will… I’d avoid it… bit like “cheats” … self defeating nonsense.

I totally hear you on this specific product not being Keto friendly. I like “Keto treats”… often with Splenda :slight_smile: But I don’t / won’t ever have a Keto cheat.

I don’t know where you guys are getting 21 grams of carbs but the amount of carbs is 12 and the dietary fiber is for and I thought that brings down the carbohydrates to eight. I just wanted to know if it was keto friendly and I definitely didn’t want to be accused of dirty keto or anything else. So I guess I will delete this post because I don’t like some of the negative comments. I’m not into drama

(Karla Sykes) #34

It might be more effective to actually read the label then to make up numbers

(Full Metal KETO AF) #35

Coconut sugar is just sugar, it’s a keto no no as far as I’m concerned I wouldn’t eat it. It isn’t any better for you than white sugar. :cowboy_hat_face:

(Karla Sykes) #36

Okay great thanks for letting me know that

(Deborah ) #38

Yep, the 7 grams of sugar was the first thing that jumped out at me. It would be a definite NO for me.

(Karla Sykes) #39

I’m not getting bent out of shape over it. And like how you said it is my opinion. You’re right next time I won’t ask for your help

I think the answer to Karla’s question of “is this keto friendly” comes down to:

  1. your personal feelings on consuming added sugars;
  2. your personal goals;
  3. your ability to avoid binging after even having a tiny but of added sugars;
  4. whether you eat one spoonful of this per week (then, yes, it’s keto friendly) or two spoonfuls a day (perhaps not) or, if you were like me, eat the entire jar in 3 days (then heck no).

Sometimes I think we lose sight of the fact that questions like Karla’s can have more nuanced answers than black and white, yes or nos.

So, that being said, my answer to Karla’s question of whether that product is keto friendly is…it depends. :blush:

I didn’t mean that in a critical way, I meant don’t delete the thread. You seemed upset but edited that post. That’s what I meant. I don’t think anyone wanted to upset you that’s all. :cowboy_hat_face:
