Oh I love baking so if you wanna throw a recipe my way I will gladly take it! I survived on the keto Lund cake recipe when I was starting the diet in March. I made them small and mini cupcakes it was 2 minis for 1 carb 102 calories 3 protein. I’m ready for something new.
I keep stalling and fell out of Ketosis again and can’t figure out why!
You have to try these but definitely use paper cups, they’re IMPOSSIBLE to get out of the muffin tray otherwise.
I made this coconut cake with lemon frosting over the weekend and it was excellent. I added a tsp of baking powder though, I wasn’t sure about the method of mixing up everything into the egg whites instead of folding it in. This one is great for people who are allergic to a lot of nuts and can’t have almond flour.
Both of these should easily last about a week in the fridge, but I’ve never had a chance to test this because my family eats them all!
I can’t get them to load yet but I love coconut and lemon. I tried other recipes but if they are sweets and they don’t know the disappear quickly here too. The muffins never last lol thank you!
Since we’re sharing desserts now…these are insanely delicious and extremely easy to make. I like to use a high quality gelatin. These are one of my favorite keto treats: Headbanger’s Kitchen Panna Cotta. Also, I don’t bother with unmolding them, I eat them straight from the little dishes.
Wow, those cheesecakes from @sypherlev and your panna cotta look so good. Bookmarked!
When I look at all my bookmarked recipes, I swear 90% of them were bookmarked while fasting (as I am now).
I have seen it suggested that you are not eating enough and your latest tracking posts support that completely.
You are in starvation mode and your metabolism has slowed way down (reason you might not feel hungry) to conserve energy. You won’t lose fat this way and it will do damage to your body as well as have a disastrous result in the future. You macro’s suggest over 1500 kcal (that I think are still to low) and you are not even making it 2/3 of the way there.
I strongly urge you to eat more and more and then more and get your metabolism up where you body doesn’t feel the need to conserve, it will help all the way around and will allow the Ketogenic WOE to work for you. The old CICO way of thinking does not apply here now.
I am off to a better start today. I have chicken salad and a salad with ranch already. I wasn’t hungry but ate it anyway. I will have a reasonable dinner and will post my daily log this evening. Thank you so much!
You have some good advice, I didn’t read all the replies but a couple of things different stood out for me besides, the low calories. Gum - I know it shows xylitol and that should be fine but chewing gum gets your digestion moving and can stimulate insulin. I was a huge gum chewer and had to get rid of that. Also, there’s some processed foods that may be stalling you i.e. ranch mix, restaurant foods like wing stop wings. Even though those foods seem low in carb, they can be problematic- many of the restaurants use spices that have sugar. Even though something says lemon pepper, there may be some sneaky carbs in there. Stick with whole foods and you’ll be fine. These are just my thoughts and things that have worked for me.
PS - if you’re not hungry - don’t eat! That’s one of the best benefits of ketosis, hunger is controlled. Don’t force yourself to eat!
I think the point was she wasn’t hungry because she had been in starvation mode and had lowered her BMR, and she was trying to eat more to get her metabolism going again.
Normally the rule is if you’re not hungry, don’t eat. But if you’re only eating 700-900 calories a day and your not hungry because you’ve lowered your BMR, then the only way to fix it is to eat more, even if you’re not hungry. But it should be a gradual increase until so your body adjusts.
You have to raise your metabolism back to levels that your body doesn’t feel the need to store fat reserve because it is not getting enough dietary fuel and nutrition. Until that happens you are not going to lose any weight. The way to raise your metabolism level is to gradually eat a little more each meal above you satiated level (if your full). This doesn’t meat to the point of bloated and uncomfortable, but just a few more bites each meal. This forces your metabolism to elevate to process the added calories and gets the motor running a little better. Think on it as a fire in the fireplace. The more wood you feed it the hotter it burns and the more heat it generates and all the wood gets used up. If you keep it low of wood it will just smolder and some of the wood just wont be used.
After you get the metabolism ramped up to appropriate levels (and can eat then to satiety) then you can adjust for weight loss by mixing up calorie intakes or fasting or OMAD , etc. Mixing it up as you choose, but a consistent deficit will again slow down the metabolism and stop weight loss.
The gum makes sense. I am going to slow down the eating out as well and try to carry healthy snacks with me. Sometimes that’s harder than others but I can make more efforts knowing I have goals set! I really appreciate each and every bit of info and advice I receive!!! I have picked up a lot of great things!
Good Summer. Your caloric intake is up
That is the right direction. I know it seems odd in trying to lose weight but it is the right way. When you get the metabolism up and become adapted, your body is going to be burning fat like a raging bonfire.
Keep increasing and great work.
I see how the gum could be not helping. I am hardly home and have been trying to prep more at night so if I’m out I can wait knowing I already have something ready at home and don’t have to make 2 separate meals. I have so many things I need to make habits out of. I’m learning something new daily here. Like I’ve said before I wish I had seen this group months ago
