I hit goal today!

I think that they look great and that you should wear them and keep them. Maybe they will be too big in April or whenever you reach your new goal, then you can donate them, but for now, wear them =). Thanks for all the encouragement you always provide to me and everyone.

Interesting. I listen to a podcast called Happiness Lab and in episode 3 she talks about a bias we humans have that can make us unhappy and it’s called ā€œup referencingā€ which means we tend to only notice and compare ourselves to the people that are doing better than we are and not taking into account people who are not doing as well. I suppose I have been guilty of that - although I don’t really ā€˜compare’ myself. But it does seem to me that I recall more of the people reporting much quicker results than I have had which means that I have likely filtered out the stories where people are taking longer. Consequently, when I look at the reports on this page about people taking off 100 pounds in a year and it took me about 8 years to drop 100 - albeit that was because for several years I kept losing, gaining some back, losing, gaining some back, that feels incredibly slow. Then once I finally committed to true low carb and it took a year and 7 months to take off 54 that seems pretty slow too. That’s the reason I post frequently about how long it’s taking, because I want there to be a counter balance to all the seemingly miraculous weight loss stories on this page: so folks whose bodies are not going to let it go that quickly won’t give up on themselves.

Amazing! Well done :tada: very inspiring and your ā€˜don’t give up!’ attitude shines through :grinning:

Excellent work! Your persistence is impressive, but I am more impressed that you held on to your acid wash jeans all those years! You look great and I am sure you feel even better. Well done.

AMEN. I’m 73 and it’s taking forever to lose my weight. I have at times been despondent reading how fast people are losing weight. My road has been very slow going. It’s so much better knowing there are others out there who have arrived at their goal through perseverance. Great job.

I’m 43 and have only lost the few pounds I gained during my pre-keto Ben & Jerry’s farewell tour. So four months in and I’m at my normal pre-keto weight. My boyfriend started four weeks ago and has lost 20. He has a lot more to lose than I do (50 compared to 15), he’s a man and not perimenopausal so I forgive him.

And @Jennibc, you really do look amazing!
