I hit goal today!

(Jennibc) #1

Exactly three and a half years to the day, after setting my goal on my then new fitbit, I weighed in at goal this morning. I am exactly 150 pounds which for my height and build is a healthy weight. At the time I had 81 pounds to go so I thought I’d get there in a year and a half. Boy was that ever optimistic. My fastest rate of weight loss has been the last one and half years, since I adopted highfat low carb and discovered “Keto” a couple of months later. That was good for 54 pounds.

At my highest of just over 270, nine years ago, I thought it would be unrealistic to ever get back here. But here I am. And at over 50. It’s never too late to get your body back.

It took me a lot longer than I wanted, but I am so glad I found patience and trusted in the process. Thanks to everyone for all of your encouragement and support over the last year plus!

Tremendous achievement!

That’s wonderful🎉…Congratulations!! Maybe you didn’t lose it in the time frame you had originally hoped, but I’ll bet you felt GOOD while doing it! You are absolutely correct…being over 50 and a woman doesn’t mean we can’t get our health back!!

Congratulations!

(You've tried everything else; why not try bacon?) #7

Yay! :+1:

(Bob M) #8

Congratulations! That is an incredible achievement, and really did not take that long.

Congratulations Jenni that is fantastic, that must feel so wonderful! Now you can join the Maintenance thread as well =). Well done!

Wow, wow, wow. Woot, hoot, holler. Congratulations.

We are all so proud of you.

(Marianne) #11

Congratulations!!!

I never thought I’d be able to lose more than 10 lbs. on anything, let alone ever be thin (80 lbs.). It’s happening; I’m ecstatic. Keto is a blessing.

(Lazy, Dirty Keto 😝) #12

Congrats, you should be proud!

(Kristen Ann) #13

Congrats!! I also appreciate you sharing your timeline of weight loss. I’m going to be one of those people who takes years to lose 40 pounds, but if I can get there again it’ll be worth it.

(squirrel-kissing paper tamer) #14

Congratulations! Now you get to be the weight you worked so hard for AND have that cool multicolored hair!

(Jennibc) #15

Totally worth it! I know we want instant results, but to get results, even if it takes a long time is still a sweet success! If anything, it feels even sweeter because it was so hard won.

Here I am this morning rocking a pair of early 1990s acid wash mom jeans :rofl::rofl: Haven’t worn them since summer of 1994. I tried them on because I dropped even lower today, albeit fractionally, so I am officially back into my 140s.

(Ellen ) #17

That’s so funny Jennibc. I’ve still got size 4 mom Jean’s in my drawer (don’t know why). They are now back in style! You look great! I’m also glad you put your timeline of weight loss…it’s been very slow for me as well. You are an inspiration.

(Jennibc) #18

But are they acid wash??? A lot of my friends are saying that they can’t believe I hung to so much of my old clothing, but I am glad I did because I promised myself I’d get back into it one day and now I have kept my promise. And it feels better than buying new clothes PLUS it’s less expensive. As I have dropped slowly, every year for the past three and a half years I have gone down a size. Consequently, I pay this money for stuff I am only wearing a year, being able supplement with the old stuff means spending less money. I have tossed out the old 16s and old 14s and am now wearing the old 12s and those jeans are old 10s. I say old because of the creeping size increase over the years means that the old 12s are today’s 8s and the old 10s are today’s 6. I bet your old 4s would be today’s zeros!

(Ellen ) #19

Oh…so true. I remember going into the Gap store and trying on a size 6 (a while back) and they fell off me. I knew then they were sizing things to fool us, so that we happily buy them. I’m going to take the leap and throw those pants out today. After I take a moment reminiscing about the old days. Lol.

(hottie turned hag) #20

lmao you know they’re back in style, right? :joy:
My 20 y/o wears high waisted jeans now, wth!

You look fabulous, you have such great facial structure.
