I have something strange going on after 19 months Keto?

I’ve been tested for that when I had bad acid reflux before Keto. I don’t have it

I had heartburn and acid reflux for years before Keto.
Since starting Keto in January 2019 I have not had heartburn or acid reflux.

So glad to know someone does Keto like me! Yes I like it simple, the more simple the better. My husband asked me the other day if I was tired of steak. I said “nope” it’s easy to cook and it’s a meal in itself. But I throw in a veg every once in a while. I like my nuts :peanuts:
Just like you, I want to live this way for the rest of my life. So I’m tailoring it to my liking.
I think we all (Keto folks) should do the same. Do Keto the way you want to and the way that’s best for you.
Let’s do this!

Posted from op: I eat nuts, a few other snacky things occasionally. I’m super flexible with my Keto.

what do you think comes into play here? Don’t be naive on what keto stuff people eat.

and sometimes and occasionally means you are not carnivore. It can’t be any simpler and yet you can’t accept it. Heavy protein based keto is not zc and never will be. There is no further chat about this on my side. Over and out!

Oh I hope anyone didn’t think I was saying I was carnivore? I’m not 100% meat by itself all the time, I may have a vegetable once a or twice a week with my meats/poultry tho. I do consume some type of meat/poultry at every meal.
Sorry if there was any confusion over that

You mention your previous GERD (Gastro-Esophageal Reflux Disorder) gold medal and some resolution of the problem on going keto.

If you had long-term GERD, there could have been some long-term damage to the valve at the base of the esophagus. And that is showing now you are OMAD - one meal a day.

I chose this image from the Mayo Clinic as they make reference to heart burn occurring commonly in the evening. If the OMAD meal during the day is large in volume, as compared to a smaller volume nutrient dense meal, it does not seem out of the ordinary to have evening heart burn as a consequence.

I hope you problem solve it quickly and share your findings.

It might be worth trying to eat a light dinner anyway to see if that helps? As frankobear mentioned, if you have a history of reflux then omad may just not be suitable for your stomach even if you don’t feel hungry.

Sorry you’re going through this, chronic heartburn sucks.

Coconut oil is guaranteed to give me heartburn, some types of nuts do too. Apple cider vinegar which is an effective treatment for some people actually causes heartburn for me. Al depends on whether it’s caused by too much acid or not enough, I seem to be one of the rare people who has too much acid so the ACV aggravates it. Baking soda in warm water gets rid of it, but avoiding known triggers prevents it. Fasting also causes heartburn for me, which ties in with there being an excess of acid.

OMG! :open_mouth::pray:
Thank you so much for this! I bet this is the problem I’m having.
I’m going to see if I can eat a small portion of something in the evening and see if it stops the heartburn. Empty stomach causing reflux I think.
I had not thought that the years of me having the reflux could have caused damage.
Btw all those foods on that list in the past would have me doubled over with reflux.
I have never been able to drink orange juice. I can’t do anything spicy or consume tomato products.
Thank you so much

Yes! I do believe an empty stomach is what’s causing this. I had experience this before in the past years I’ve dealt with severe reflux. Frankobear posted an amazing link about this. I’m almost positive it’s an empty stomach problem.
So I’m going to try to a have a small portion of something at dinner time.

I suggest you gave doctor check for H. Pylori overgrowth in your stomach. It’s not uncommon and is treated easily. It causes nausea and more.
