I hate my guts

what shall I do?

looking at the photo, Do I have fatty lever?

yuk

I heard from Dr Eric Berg that fatty lever can form while keto during the initial fat loss. and the solution is to eat lots of kale while ketoing

But I have been between low carb and keto for 6 months and I was not eating vigitables.

Any advice will be appreciated.

thanks

There are lower carb greens. They may matter for your liver. Try a spinach, kale other greens mix. Can easily stay under 20,G net.

He may be right.

What are you planning to do? Do you want to loose weight or make your liver healthier, or do you want to covert and live on a Keto based diet for the foreseeable future?

I can tell you what I’ve done and what I think, but that doesn’t mean it will work for you.

ya please tell me.

I want to get red of this bulging.

Da Vinci golden ratio does not apply here

Omar, it can take a fairly long time to get rid of the extra internal fat - for some of us it’s the last thing to go. Same for me - I have lost a lot in some areas, but the distance from my back straight through to the front of my stomach is still a long way…

I will be patient and keto on

may God bless any one elevate my positive energy

Omar, I think it can be hard to tell from a picture. Obviously we are all different, but I’m larger around the middle also, however when I tense my abdominal muscles I can tell that much of the bulk is on the outside of those muscles and therefore subcutaneous. Perhaps treat yourself to a dexascan so you have a clear picture of what’s going on. I haven’t done one, but I find keeping track of data motivating for progress so I’m thinking of doing it. Best of luck to you!

yes

when on my back my abdomen looks like Saluki

I agree I was planning to do some tests and scan to see what exactly going on.

I think I have to do more fasting when I get red of the lower back pain.

Maybe go easier on yourself too. I am all too familiar with the brutal self-criticism that comes when one looks at oneself in the mirror. Most of us are far kinder to others than we are to ourselves, it’s something we can all work on.

My lower back pain has gotten a lot better over the last few weeks, after no change during the first several weeks of keto. I know how much it sucks, I hope you see real improvement soon. Do you have a foam roller? I found stretching with mine really helped ease the discomfort each day until it finally got better for good.

I’m curious how the two are connected? Does fasting make your lower back pain worse?

FWIW, I eat vegetables and don’t plan to give that up. There are some that I either avoid or eat small amounts of. But I like a pretty wide variety of veggies. Asparagus, broccoli / cauliflower / cabbage / Brussels sprouts, greens (turnip, mustard, collard), spinach, squash (zucchini, yellow), a few tomatoes, lettuces of different kinds, radishes, cucumbers,… I’m probably leaving out a few. They can fit into your macros and be keto. Some of us really like and get along quite well with vegetables as a part of what I feel like is a pretty well balanced diet for me. (I realize that some don’t like or want to eat vegetables. And I also realize that some don’t like or want to eat animal products. I would consider myself firmly planting in middle ground on that one. LOL!!)

Good luck!

many people develop back pain with fasting

I am not sure how they are connected but one hypothesis is about the muscles doing detoxifying while in deep ketosis causing such pain. but I really do not know.

about the vigitables I am in full agreement that I have to eat more. I think I already concluded that they reduce my back pain.

thanks for the encouragement.

Boy I do fit that category!
Yesterday visiting my ovo, lacto, pedestrian daughter, noticed that one reason I struggle with keto is i MISS vegetables. Yesterday’s lunch a beautiful flavorful, satisfying salad…kale radicchio mix, bacon, Apple ,smoked turkey, almonds, avocado, blue cheese, added steamed broccoli. OM Goodness it was so satisfying. Wasn’t hungry for 5 hours and I only ate half. And my stomach was happy, and didn’t hurt. Keto yes. Ok not the Apple but I need to add more veggies back in. Dressing was olive oil.

Thanks for the chuckle!! LOL!!

This is interesting and I’ve not had this experience myself. I’m assuming you are managing your electrolyte intake, getting plenty of sodium and magnesium while fasting?

(Karen) #16

Ummm, hmmmm, millennial, believes anything she reads, sucked in by mainstream media. Brilliant, just not smart. Hugely affected by confirmation biasses.

Dr Berg is very high on vigitables.

And their effects on me is quite noticible but my love to fat is 10 times more.

(Shayne) #18

Keto doesn’t cause fatty liver - grains and fructose do. Have you ever seen the way geese are fed to create foie gras?

If you’re on YouTube anyway, go to Dr. Ken Berry’s channel and check out his videos on fatty liver and fatty pancreas. Eye opening.

I was just funnin’ with ya, Karen. I was guessing an “auto-incorrect” thing happening. But it did kinda give me a chuckle. Mostly auto-incorrect is just annoying but occasionally they’re funny.

this is what I was referring to.
