(Paul Flickner) #1

Hello ALL!

Today is day 53 for me. I’m feeling… AMAZING !! and I don’t say that lightly… I’m sleeping better… I used to nap everyday and now I can’t seem to nap… I used to wake my wife up 4-5 nights a week snoring… She says it is now rarely… I started walking 1 to 1.5 hours per day 10 days ago (flat 1/2 track) at a 3mph rate.

I’m a 56yr old male. SW:290 CW:260 My avg daily calories 1,644 74.59% Fat, 21.12% Protein, 3.02% Carbs.

My first Keto-Mojo testing results: (11:30AM) 90 minutes after 1 cup of coffee and breakfast:

HCT looks low from that I can find on line and I’m not sure what Hb is measuring ??

Respectfully,
KetoInCT (Paul)

I just retested glucose after dinner tonight.

Makes sense.
spurious Hct and Hb readings shouldn’'t be taken seriously.
Really it would be the trend over time that is important.

it isnt possible to go from a Hct of 21 to 39% in a short period of time.
Unless you can blood dope like Lance Armstrong !

@VLC.MD Thank you. I understand the HCT measurement, but what is Hb test and what does it measure ?

Respectfully,
Paul

Hb = Hemoglobin = Blood = Oxygen carrying capacity of your blood.
Hb is easier to test to understand.

@VLC.MD Hi There! Just got my keto mojo for Christmas. I have been getting a pretty consistent .5 reading. My understanding is that 1.0 -2.5 is optimal. Where does the .5 put me? Is that good, bad or indifferent? I have NOT been keto for 2 weeks. I have been doing some experimentation with higher carbs, real sugars, veggies and more dairy as I prepare to figure out what I need to do for maintenance when I reach goal. I don’t believe I am in ketosis but is a .5 reading light ketosis???
