I feel so naughty. :D Pork rinds

I usually don’t eat any of the pre-packaged keto foods. I like to keep it simple like having steak and broccoli for a meal, maybe bacon and eggs, homemade chicken curry with cauliflower…those types of things.

Well, the day got away from me and we were in the grocery store at 8pm. I was hungry and walking by all the things I’m not eating or drinking (apples, mandarin oranges, baked goods, bread, juice) had me feeling a bit peckish. Being hungry meant I picked up a couple things I wouldn’t normally buy (I’m going to try sardines, haven’t had them since being a kid), unsweetened coconut flakes (HWC, blueberries and coconut?), almond flour (Fathead pizza dough), so that was maybe a good thing.

But I’m thinking about what I want for dinner and nothing sounds appealing. I bought a small bag of pork rinds to rebel and protest the things I wasn’t eating.

So I ate the pork rinds, but now I’m not hungry and it feels very naughty to have a meal of just pork rinds and water.

I have that meal all of the time usually for lunch. A small bag of pork cracklin’s and a giant glass of water. Yum!

So I guess I shouldn’t feel bad, right?

I’m still working on letting go of the “3 meals/day” mentality, “have” to have fruits and veg to be healthy, etc.

Correct. It’s not like you eat them all the time over whole foods, etc…

Thanks. Just realized that pork rinds will probably go well with homemade chili instead of crackers or corn chips.

Good thinking Ben…I never thought of that but my family has been asking me to cook a big chili.

Yes, pork rinds are packaged, but I never thought of them not being a whole food. Just cut pork skin fried and not really “processed.”
