I F Science Help!

(Tina) #1

I posted on FB about my success with Keto and IF and some people expressed an interest. So I posted a video of Dr Berry explaining the benefits of 12 - 16 hr IF and was immediately challenged by one of my contacts. He referred to it as “one mans opinion” - and that research supports lo cal + exercise, called dangerous, unsustainable, and said the body reacts badly to fasting in many ways. I responded to these points but now need to “Show him the science” . He has a nurseing degree,

Any help you can offer to help me quickly collect links to studies, etc. would be greatly appreciated! I fear time is of the essence, as all of my other FB friends are likely to dismiss my message as kooky, unsupported, and dangerous. Thanks!

Now sure why you would even care about that, it is FB, so they are gonna think what ever and who cares? If you are getting your desired results, that is all that matters isn’t it? If you really want to find support on this WOE/WOFasting, I suggest you join https://www.facebook.com/groups/kickarseketob1tches/

There is a whole section here called “Show Me The Science”. I am sure you can find something to toss out if you really feel a need to do that. Just use the search word fast.

Thanks, I’ll check out that group. The reason I care is that this is my FB page. I’d posted about my success losing 45 lbs on Keto and IF, and some folks said they were interested in learning more. Plus I was trying to pay it forward as I know a few people this could help that have given up trying to lose weight. I want to pelt him with multiple sources of information in response to his assertion that one guy who doesn’t know anything made this up

Update on my naysayer FB friend: I added several links to articles, YouTube presentations, etc. and he’s never directly responded to that. I posted a few more things from Dr Berry and Tim Noakes since then and he’s kept his peace on the matter. Last weekend I posted a few more things and promised my FB friend that I would stop posting low carb/ health stuff after this. Several people piped up and said don’t stop- we need all the help we can get! A few have even gotten one of the books I recommend and asked me to point them to more resources

So in the end I’m glad I tried to pay it forward in hopes that some of my friends and family might be helped.
