I dont know my starting HBA1C but I do know my starting Blood Pressure

I had blood work done after 2 months on Keto and I have an HBA1C of 4.8 I don’t have a starting comparison for that but I am happy with the number regardless. I do however know that I had a blood pressure of 190/110. My most recent visit where I got my bloo dwork done I had a blood pressure of 130/82. The health changes that Keto inspires beyond weight loss is amazing.

Great numbers Seth. Keep up the great work.

thanks, almost everything was in normal range but uric acid, which was high before keto. I have seen some suggestions of lime juice with water could help to lower that, so i might incorporate that during my fasts.

Yes, they are. Congrats on becoming a statistic!

Congratulations on the vastly improved BP and the healthy a1c… oh the joys of starting keto in your 20’s.

Not taking anything away from the BP results but readings are incredibly susceptible to things like stress, recent eating, the specific machine, time of day, etc. 190/110 was a very bad score but think about whether you were freaking out, had eaten a salty meal etc. when you had it done. It could have had some effect on why your blood was trying to burst out of your veins!
I bet more recently, you were pretty chill given all the great progress you’ve been making?

If you are interested in your BP, get a home testing machine. They are pretty good and also cheap and you will see the high variability of readings but be able to keep a track of your progress in a more consistent environment (pick the same time of day and conditions to take readings and note your stress level). Try several readings after each other and see the differences. I used to be scared of my BP - now I like tracking it (doesn’t hurt that it has gotten better under keto (145/95 to 128/78))

Thanks, though I still lament not starting in my late teens early twenties, or more, I lament not continuing when I first started around 3 years ago.

As far as BP I’m not majorly concerned with tracking it. It was just such a giant jump that it stood out to me. And I never had an HBA1C reading because my glucose has never been high enough for them to want to test diabetes. So I went with what I knew. Also I for sure have been more chill. Keto and IF/EF have given me a whole new life. The only time I’m not chill now is when someone realizes I haven’t eaten for 2 days and asks me if I am dieing. Or if I talk to someone who never said a thing about my diet that got me to almost 500 lbs but has to tell me that the amount of bacon, beef, and salt I am eating will kill me in 10 years. Though I love to just retort with great, that is an extra 7 years past what I would have had if I had kept eating like I did.

Sorry I went a little more tangential than I intended. all in all thanks for your input, I never really looked into health things until I started keto and went crazy on research. Blood Pressure was not something I looked into so I wast even aware how volatile it could be.
