I don’t want to put any fasting pressure on anyone but

I haven’t had a thing to eat all year! :joy::joy::joy::joy:

Seriously, I’m 110 hours into my fast, using some “training wheels” like coffee, tea, splash of cream once or twice a day and a few cups of bone broth when I feel like it. My mid afternoon blood ketones yesterday were 3.4, the highest in nearly 3 years keto. My blood sugar was 98. I’m losing a lot of inflammation/water on this fast and down over 9 lbs in 5 days, which is unusually quick. Had my third (and last-yay!) cancer-related surgery on 12/5/17 and with each surgery I packed on 14-20 lbs. So that explains the accelerated losing I believe. I’m happy my waist is down to 34” today (I’m 6’1” tall so that’s a great height-waist ratio) and looking forward to seeing some progress with my body fat % changing when I get a DEXA scan in a few months. But most of all, I’m super grateful to be celebrating 18 months cancer free TODAY. Keto on folks and remember, I haven’t eaten yet this year! :joy::joy::joy::joy:

Mid morning blood ketones were 4.0 and blood sugar was 83. In 8 or 9 five-day fasts I’ve never had results like this! Really happy and full of energy today despite working last night until almost 9 pm!

Anyhoo, I was at a networking lunch and broke my fast after 113 hours or so with a cup of tortilla soup (with no tortillas-just a few tablespoons of veggies in chicken broth with a little spice) and about 1/4 cup of sour cream and at least half a cup of fresh mashed guacamole. And a few tablespoons of tomato salsa. I savored every bite and don’t have an upset stomach or anything! I am going to take some proactive coconut charcoal though just in case (for fasting newbies, breaking a fast can be challenging on your digestive system) but it’s been about 90 minutes and I feel great. Good stuff and I’m psyched to be back in the fasting saddle after surgery, etc.! Happy weekend!

Congrats! I also haven’t eaten all year and didn’t even put that together. I’m not going to stop saying that until I break now.

Great job, congrats!! Can you tell me more about the coconut charcoal??

It’s great for upset stomach. I buy it from the Bulletproof Company.
