I Can Talk While Tying my Shoes!

(Windmill Tilter) #1

This probably sounds like a silly non-scale victory, but I’ll take it! When the new year started, I had to sit down to tie my shoes, and my belly was so big I had to hold my breath to do it. It made me feel really fat, and really self conscious.

Today I was tying my shoes and I realized that not only was I breathing normally, I was talking to my 4 year old son while doing it! Either my arms got longer or my wheat belly has really shrunk a lot! :yum:

I think all this keto, fasting and weight lifting put a bulls-eye right on my belly because that seems to be the fat that’s disappearing first. I’ve lost 32lbs since January, and when I look in the mirror I can see the difference. I think keto and I are going to get along just fine… :grinning:

I put some progress pics up yesterday in my accountability thread. I’d post them in here, but I think the “accountabiliity” forum is protected from search engines and I’m not sure this one is.

Congratulations, Nick!

Breathing while tying shoelaces is one of the great benefits to me, too. I can also see what I’m doing while cutting my toenails, not to mention being able to get down on the floor without having to spend time first figuring out what I’ll have to do to get back up.

Visceral fat is apparently the first to go, on a well-formulated ketogenic diet, but the rest of my fat has been leaving in reverse order of arrival, so I expect I’ll still have a belly for quite some time. It’s a treat, however, to have so much less belly.

I didn’t start this way of eating because of my obesity, but because of my risk of developing diabetes and cardiovascular disease. But I am certainly not complaining about the fat loss!

I never been there but for sure it is much easier after keto.

we want you to post a photo when you tie one shoe while standing on the other.

I bet it’s curing your dicky-do-itis as well.

Congratulations! They’re making these slip on style tennis shoes for women right now and I’m not complaining about not having ties, that’s for sure. Keep it up!
