I am new to fasting and I have questions

Hi. So I am a 19 year old male. 5’10 and I weigh 73kg. I am looking to lose weight so I am doing the 16:8 fasting thingy. Now, my questions are as follows:

  1. When I am allowed to eat, what can I eat? I was thinking eggs, fruit salad and normal salad with lettuce, tomatoes, feta, apple cider vinegar, and onion ? What other foods do I have to eat? Is the choice of food that I am choosing too fatty or what?
  2. My feeding time is 2pm to 10pm. Is that fine? I go to bed at 1am, so when I wake up I just have to wait 3 hours before I eat?
  3. I usually smoke weed every night before sleep. Any chance weed will help me lose fat faster? Since it increases metabolism? I don’t get the munchies if I dont have food in site, so I won’t be eating everything in my fridge lol.
    Sorry about all these questions. I am new to this as I said and I am not really sure on how it all works. Kinda stressful as I still wanna stay healthy and not skip on important nutrients or foods.
    Also, how much weight would I roughly be losing every month? I know that the margin can be large depending on many different variables. But if anyone knows someone or can share their experiences with fasting at 73kg, I would really appreciate it! :smiley:

Intermittent fasting on its own won’t necessarily help you loose weight if you’re not eating the right foods when you do eat.

This is a ketogenic forum. Many of us do intermittent fasting as well as extended fasting, but I’m conjunction with a ketogenic way of eating.

Can’t really confirm that. I smoke weed every day also and to be honest it has not made a difference to my weight loss, if anything it helps to supress my appetite during fasting so I can continue kicking on to reach my goals.

I have tried two different scales. They say the same weight. I feel and look like I am more than 73kg.

What type of fasting do you think can help me lose weight the most efficient?

The point is that you already have a BMI well within the health range and you want to lose further weight.
Your post above suggests that you don’t really understand keto, with references to fruit salad.
Keto is low carb, high fat. Nothing in your posts above suggests that you are taking that in account.
Try reading some of the basics at www.dietdoctor.com to get started, and maybe focus on eating keto for health rather than weight loss at this stage.
Fasting is a further tool, and tends to come naturally when hunger reduces, but should be tool not the main focus for keto.
