HWC carbs question

(eat more) #1

how are ya’ll determining carbs in your HWC?

every brand i’ve ever used says 0 or <1 as does the app i use…even when upping the quantity

i don’t want fda loophole sorcery effing up my limit…although prob not a real issue since i’m always under and havent ever used more than 60ml in a day…so i guess i’m just curious.

TIA (thanks in advance)

Mine says 1 gram per tablespoon, so that’s what I tally. It’s worth every drop.

ok i think i got it…
it’s legal for manufacturers to state 0 if it’s .5 or less so i’m going to assume that if it says <1 then it’s at least .5g/listed serving

If the amount is less than a gram per serving the manufacturer can state 0 grams! This can be very misleading, I usually just stick to 1 gram per serving to be safe. If you love HWC it can be real easy to blow your carb goals!

That’s what I do if a long dance with Google yields nothing.

Edit: well I was wrong and overestimated! Check your brand specifically, but here’s the USDA data for “generic” cream without additives:

https://ndb.nal.usda.gov/ndb/foods/show/52?manu=&fgcd=&ds=

Half and half is not much more per cup on average (1-2g maybe?) Again, depends on additives.

For specific brands, you can always search the USDA database for more accurate information.

Thanks for this. Unfortunately, my brand is still 1 g per tablespoon. (sniff)

my current brand is still >1 :joy:
i was just wondering how ppl were getting higher carbs from their cream…i’m guess i’m just lucky with my brands
