I’m in the normal weight range now, and close to my goal weight. Lately, I’ve noticed I get hungrier much quicker. Could this be from the fact I probably don’t have as much body fat to pull from?
Hungrier closer to goal weight
That very subject is discussed at the end of the Jeff Volek - Keto Adaptation I video linked on this post: Video for beginners and skeptical spouses: Jeff Volek - Keto Adaptation at about the 53:45 mark.
Jeff Volek suggests that it’s a quite normal part of self-regulation to stop extreme (anorexic-like) weight loss.
I remember years ago, reading on a forum from a really hard-core very-low-carber, an athletic type, who said when you got right down, and say you wanted to get to a fairly low fat level for athletic reasons, you just had to bite the bullet and restrict calories (and presumably feel hungry sometimes).
(Perhaps one might get some help from known insulin-resistance-reducing supplements like berberine, or chromium picolinate (I’m guessing that only works if you are chromium deficient), or according to some sources, vitamin K2. Or of course, plain old exercise).
Also, apple cider vingear is said to reduce appetite, but it does have some calories (as acetate, which the acetic acid converts to, I believe, rather than carbs) - not sure how significant though.
