I’m a little late to this but my submissions for the ancient technology category:

  • my first TV was black and white, and made in West Germany. Sorta dated it.

  • working as a temp for local government in York (UK) in 2003 I was asked to go down to the creepy storage room to use the old typewriter. They had one form that was only on paper so kept a typewriter just for that. I’d used a typewriter years before, and quite like the old timey vibe, but as a non trained person it took forever to finish.

If you call a sugar withdrawal tantrum cool. If he thinks his kid is a handful now, just wait until the gonad hormones start kickboxing with the sugar crashes in middle school. Such a joy to be around.

Maybe, or maybe he’s just a kid having a rough day. Sometimes little one’s emotions are too big for their body. And this guy isn’t screaming and yelling, he’s just not smiling. And he’s even still posing for his pictures. I deal with kids having temper tantrums regularly. The deal in my class is that you are allowed to feel how ever you feel, but you have to behave in a way that is respectful of me and your classmates. Would my life be easier if these kids weren’t fueled by sugar. I suspect so. But that doesn’t make them bad people.
