What about when parents had children, so they could change the channels…ALL FOUR OF THEM.
Humor :-)
I was the 11th of 12 children (with a 6 year gap between my next older sister and me) and generally the delegated channel changer. I don’t think I got a seat on a sofa until I hit junior high.
There were only four channels when the President didn’t come on and glom up the works with one of his boring grown up speeches. I mean, what could possibly be more important than the Six Million Dollar Man?
Anyway, the fun ended promptly at midnight when that flag went up the pole and the Poltergeist snow crackled until dawn.
Okay. I moved the vaccination comments out of this thread. But I’m not going to worry about all the other non-humorous comments still remaining. That is up to you folks. If you want the thread to stay a humor thread, post the other stuff elsewhere.
I am admitting to and apologizing for going off on a tangent, but the original post about vaccinations was not mine. Just so it’s clear.
I just think most that stop in here, are expecting just that, Humor. (A place to come and laugh together) But of course, some side-tracking is expected and probably tolerated.
And yes, I do agree, I think a lot of us were remotes at some point. Just think of it this way… some actually grew up as Radio tuners.
Not to mention record-changers!
(Does anyone still remember phonograph records?)
I college we had a bowl that we could throw a nickel in. When it hit the bowl the channel would change.
Love her stuff, Lewis Black is the one who got me to listen to her. They are great friends and tour together a lot.
The fact that they were boyfriend and girlfriend for a long time probably has something to do with it.
They’re in my top ten. But for keto, ya gotta go with Gaffigan.
My brother and I used to fight over the remote for the TV. He’d get really mad at me because, as the older brother, he always won that fight…but I figured out that jingling car keys would change the channel. So I’d let him keep the remote and go get the keys.
I wonder if younger people are thinking, “throwing nickels in bowls?”, “jiggling keys?”, what are these people talking about?
