How to Get Over a Stall and Stay Healthy - Modified Bacon AND Egg Fast!

(Davy) #1

Anyone done one of these? I’ve heard of bacon fast; and egg fast. But bacon AND egg fast?
I may start a modified one tomorrow. Start off with a pound of bacon and 4 eggs per day; adding lots of spinach, cod liver oil, kerrygold butter unsalted, some cream cheese, maybe half an avocado, and a green drink. Must watch I don’t go over 90g of protein. Will find out tomorrow what all this adds up to.

this is getting out of hand, when eating it is not a fast it is a diet. Lets try and be practical folks

(Davy) #3

Just an expression, @Alley. Lighten up. Any positive thoughts?

I eat very little bacon but do eat uncured side pork,

I’ve considerd it myself. Combine, they are just about the perfect keto foods. And you CAN call it a fast. Fasting is defined as abstaining from SOME or all kinds of food and/or drink. There are MANY types of fasting; water fast, dry fast, fat fast, steak fast, egg fast. All are legitimate types of fasting.

I say go for it. I might even join you. Although I’d probaly mix it up to include bacon and/or pork belly in all it’s delicious forms.

It is a fast, fasting is cutting out foods, it doesn’t have to mean abstaining from all food. KCKO.

(Ashley) #7

I just completed a full on bacon fast (1 to 1 1/2 lbs a day) easy peasy.

(Ashley) #8

Go for it!!!

(You've tried everything else; why not try bacon?) #9

In classic Christian terminology, BTW, “fasting” is defined as a reduction in the quantity of food. Thus, the Lenten fast is permitted to consist of one small meal and one half-sized meal in a day. “Abstinence” means a reduction in the quality of food, by not eating a certain food or foods. So we abstain from meat on most Fridays and in Lent, and fast as well on most Fridays of the year (though not on holy days or in Eastertide). The point is spiritual discipline.

But I think here, on these forums, the point of fasting is to reduce calories to near zero, for the benefits that provides. While I don’t think we should get too hung up on language, I’m afraid a “bacon and egg fast” sounds too much like Heaven to me to count as a fast, lol! :bacon: :egg:

I’m fat adapted, so eating a pound of bacon sizzled in a cast iron pan with a few eggs on top is a primary meal at least once a week.

If you don’t agree, just send all your bacon to me as a way to simplify things.

Love bacon,
Love avocado,
Pecans, butter and salt,
Greens

Did I mention bacon…

(Ashley) #11

It’s heaven, until you see all the yummy food in the boring keto thread!!!

(Ashley) #12

I think I’ll be incoperating the same type of once a week meal as I love the feeling of bacon and egg fast!!!

(Davy) #13

So how’d it go @monsterjuice ? Pounds lost? How long did you go on your Bacon fast? Join us Baytowvin. Reading other threads on Bacon Fasting, they said you start to lose your appetite and easy to eat just 2 meals a day. Plus the very low carbs mean you’re burning pure fat and a lot of it. I’ll probably do it till I’m sick of bacon and eggs. We’ll see. You guys that know more about bacon and pork, is the low salt form just as ok as regular bacon?

(Karen) #14

ditto. Did it help??

K

(Ashley) #15

I lost 8lbs in 1 week. Doing it again on day 4 and down 3lbs, but I have a lot to lose still so YMMV. But it was easy. I like it makes me only eat OMAD

(Ashley) #16

I go for the high sodium bacon!! Eating just bacon you need electrolytes. Especially from sodium

(Olwyn) #17

This sounds interesting! I have done low carb before many times and my body is slow to lose!! Big time. 3 weeks in and just 3 pounds Lost. I have around 50 pounds to lose. Is this normal?
Thanks!!
Bacon and eggs…hmmmm
Just water with that every day??

(Davy) #18

Good point. High sodium it is. . . plus my Magnesium and Potassium.

(Davy) #19

Read my first post again friend. Lots of water too, yes. I bet this would knock your plateau out!

(Olwyn) #20

Thanks so much!! I’ll try it soon!!
