How do I know I’m eating enough during my window?

#1

Since starting IF (16:8) 6 days ago, I felt like my brain has been totally mush. I’m so spaced out I can’t even believe it. I’ve had headaches too, and unbelievable muscle fatigue with exercise. Before I started IF (almost 2 weeks into keto) I felt amazing! Tons of energy and mental clarity.

So, is it that I’m not eating enough? I’ve been eating two meals per day- veggies roasted in a good amount of fat with some fatty fish or something similar. Plenty of fat and protein and I stop when I’m full. Until today, those two meals were more than satiating in my 8hour eating window. But today, I’m wiped out and famished. So I ate more (high fat and some protein again.)

I guess I’m just confused. I know I’m in ketosis (I’ve tested) but obviously I’m not fat adapted yet. Is that why I feel like sh$t on IF? Or should I be eating more often? Or should I stop fasting altogether and just do keto?

So frustrated.

I didn’t start IF until my body was ready to do it. I just wasn’t hungry for lunch or breakfast or both. That wasn’t for a good 6-8 weeks of changing my fuel source over. Up til that point my total calories were at or above maint. It wasn’t until my body was ready to eat itself did I start IF. Now 7 months in and I’m closer to goal weight and my body is demanding more so I’m giving it more.

Your answer is hidden in plain sight…

So - go back to what you were doing when you felt the above.

Try IF again in a month or three… and if you no longer

then you know it is the right time to go there…
